What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Ive got a good ear. When I go to see live music, I usually have some issue with how the soundboards are dialed in: main vocals too loud or percussion section not sounding right, etc. Its fun for me to get this old truck with vocals dialed in center stage, up front bass, etc. and on not the highest end equipment. Its the dsp: it really is a game changer.

 

damn… that’s bass-heavy.

I tuned my system to be bass-heavy also because there is so much exhaust drone and road noise. Cruising at 65mph it’s about perfect. If I’m in traffic I end up dropping the sub out -3ish.


I’m really happy with how my hertz 6.5/tweeter combo sounds. The highs are so crisp and sharp without being harsh.

 

The minidsp has a volume control for one channel that I use for the sub, so I can bump it up or down quite a bit.
Everyone love Hertz. Im running stereo integrity mids and tweets in stock locations.

Have you ran sound for live music before? That shit is an art. Do the use dsp tech for live music?

I haven't, just a penchant for great sound. I remember ripping open stereos when I was young wondering how the hell did sound come out of all that mess. Luckily I never got zapped from a capacitor.

 

Much much better in some of the places annoying places. The window is still leaking, but this effort was never going to fix that. The big thing was pulling off the plastic bed rail caps and fully lining it with butyl tape. I didn't realize how much water was leaking from the holes in the bed once it made it under the shell. That is very dry now. All underneath the bed rails are dry. Still some getting in from the tailgate gap and come in the front window and some on the passenger side window.

 

Should i be cranking down my SuspensionMaxx that much as well? Mine are no where near that tightened up!

 

While I only have stock, I usually just tighten it until it partially compresses the bushings and they begin to deform.

 

So does it look like I have them cranked down too much?

 

No, yours look fine. The spec on mine calls for 14 ft-lbs if I recall correctly and that really flattens them so I usually do a few lbs less since it not a critical component on the truck.

 

Thanks for the heads up, ill check mine with a torque wrench later today.

Also, got my 8 zerks greased this weekend. Satisfying watching the grease come out of various places, haha

 

Were the TRD front sway bars heavier than the non TRD's from the factory?

 

I believe the non-TRD sway bar was hollow, and the TRD was solid. Should be heavier.

I know there are two different diameters, the thicker obviously would be heavier. I'm not sure that it was a TRD sticker or dual cab model that got the thicker bar. Or could've been the 04-06. Somebody else will chime in. Darkness or PHM would know for sure

 

Pretty sure I have a DC TRD SB in my hoard if anyone is wanting one.

It feels so much better in town, and 95% of my driving is in town. But the new rear leafs really improved handling in general, so no I’ll never go back

Wonder if the Ridgeline ones work for the AC? My hardware is fubar'd on the front sway, and I'm non TRD. Was looking at the addco for the rear, but I dunno.
