Has anyone installed a front hitch mount on a 2022?

I understand that in previous years prior to 2022, getting the oil changed required removing the skid plate. Installing a front hitch mount required creating a hole in the skid plate to access the oil filter because the skid plate could no longer be removed after installing a front hitch mount.

Has anyone installed a front hitch mount on a 2022? Are they similar to previous year models?

 

Was hoping to install a front hitch mount also. Mounting points look different on the 2022's and if your model has the deployable air dam that would probably be a issue too.

Air dam deploys at over 40mph and retracts once you get below 25mph. You can static deploy it when you turn off the truck then hold the wiper control up in the mist position for 2-3 seconds.

Saw the Reese model 65031 hitch for earlier Tundras has recovery points, a plus...

Good question, and there is only one minor modification that needs to be made, which is to enlarge a hole in the skid shield of your 2022 Toyota Tundra to install the Draw-Tite front-mounted that fits, which is the following part number:

- Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65080

I have added a diagram from the instructions of the # 65080 which shows the hole that needs to be enlarge, and it simply needs to be enlarged to 4 inches in diameter. That's all there is regarding modification to your '22 Tundra as nothing needs to be done with the air dam; just enlarge the hole and you're set.

I manually deployed the air dam on our Tundra. I agree with the Etrailer guy that you do not need to do anything to the air dam to mount the hitch receiver. However, it looks like you will have to cut a small section in the air dam to actually be able to put something in the hitch receiver like a bike rack. I would appreciate any other thoughts or comments on this.

Can anyone confirm this hitch definitely works on the 22 Tundra? I looked at the installation instructions and it just didn't seem to me that it had the correct mounting points on the 22. I do not mind cutting a piece out of the center of the air dam but I want to make sure this fits before I order.
