Anyone running a block/shackle combo in the rear?

Planning to crank my front coils up to 3.5". They're currently sitting at 2.5" and I like the look I currently have with the 1.5" blocks in the rear. I'd like to keep the same angle, so if I'm adding 1" in the front, I want to add another 1" in the rear.

Seems like OME Dakar Leaf Springs are the probably the BEST option, but I was curious if anyone on here is actually running a block/shackle combo.

My truck is a pavement whore (nowhere around here to offroad), so I'm bouncing the idea around of adding shackles in the rear along with the 1.5" block.

I'm running an AAL +ToyTec shackle set to max in the rear with OME coilovers up front. I like the setup but replacing with Dakar's would be a plus. I suggest calling ToyTec.

 

I've always heard stacking lifts are a bad idea. I'm assuming the same goes with the rear. Would definitely put more stress on your springs.

I'd just go AAL (or Icon leaf pack) with shackles.

 

If my rear block can't be used anymore, I'm just going with the OME Dakar Leaf Springs so I get 2.5" of lift and then won't need shackles.

This truck just gets more as more expensive. Ha. Just not sure $600 is worth it for another inch

 

You'll be fine with blocks and shackles.

The bitch is, I have to make a decision like today. Need to get the new ball joints on before any major damage happens. I've already aligned this thing twice in 6 months....I only wanna do it one more time haha.

I did and they suggested the Dakar Leaf Pack. I did not inquire about combining the block and shackle yet

 

Hey @joem1cha3l ,

You should be just fine with running that setup but I would recommend, just as @csuviper stated, double check your shock lengths.
You might want to consider the Dakar pack sometime or another though, having a shackle and block will break down the leaf pack integrity overtime, especially if you load the truck down.

I wish blocks went away....just ask this guy who cranked up his kings in the front and decided that the Deaver K37 and Camburg shackles weren't enough in the rear. Now it rides like ass. And the fronts are stressed out as well.

My advice, do it right and get a AAL system or a custom leaf pack for what you need. May cost more initially but your truck will thank you for a long time. If you're just looking for 1.5 or so, Icon can do that while retaining the stock shackles. You can choose to upgrade to Camburg/TC shackle at a later
time.

 

I've put enough money into this truck that I have zero issue purchasing the new leaf springs for $600 in the future. My issue is, I always think I know what look I want and then it's not enough. Buying $150 in shackles to find out I don't like it is easier to swallow than $600.
