Alright well, I have seen the plethora of transmission-ticking posts on here and on Reddit. I have a 23 that's got less than 100 miles on it and the transmission is already ticking, the heater blower barely blows any air, and the driver's side mirror whistles intensely.

For those that had the transmission ticking did any of you have it resolved successfully without having to get a new truck? I feel sick to my stomach right now that I dropped 60k on what seems to be turning out as a lemon.

I believe most of us are aware of these issues. The transmission noise may be normal, do you have a video?

Yeah that does no sound great. Sounds like my old 5.7 on cold startup. Hopefully you get this resolved.

I’ll check mine to see if it’s anything similar or not

For anyone that cares. After arguing with the dealership they finally sent the videos to Toyota and determined that the transmission is faulty and needs to be replaced.

That sounds bad. There should be absolutely nothing to argue about. 95% sure that is a transmission, but others have also posted similar noises and they are getting new engines.....

Yeah one would think, they claim they weren’t hearing a noise, but luckily I have video.

I haven’t seen anyone having to replace the whole engine but that really concerns me. Do you happen to have the posts that state that?

don't let it worry you, Toyota will diagnose and fix. Looks like they already did and ordered a new transmission.

I would have to search, but there has been a couple people and threads with engines replaced in new gen.

When you replaced the transmission, can you still hear the noise from transmission?

Matty, I have a 24 with the same sound. Having any further issues now that the transmission has been replaced?

That sounds terrible... like an old Peterbilt.
