    Welcome!

No, you are not out of line, a new 20.00 item should be NEW, with no damage, a zillion-dollar Tundra should be better tan NEW!

I have had several excellent PDR experiences, every time I could not tell where the ding was. Good luck. My guy has said sorry, I can't help with that a few times, fwiw.

The likelihood of getting a bunch of free stuff because they fixed a dent seems pretty low to me. I have worked at a few dealerships and tons of vehicles get damaged in transit, fixed upon arrival, and sold as brand new with no disclaimer to the customer or discount being offered. That includes full panel replacements and repainting. There's a strange idea on vehicle forums that buying a new vehicle somehow guarantees you a pristine vehicle that has never had any type of mechanical or cosmetic repair. You're free to walk away at any time of course, but I'd be surprised if anything gets offered because they fixed a minor ding.

Is PDR done by the dealer or a 3rd party company they pay?

Brand new house has had all kinds of things touched up. Cars are the same way. You can point out things but what you don’t know is how much has already been repaired. Just the way it is, and it probably just was missed or happened in the dealer lot.

Damn that Platinum looks great. The dark tone on the fenders and windows....so making me hate my chrome so much! Congrats.

Have they fixed the fender flare divot issue? My truck looks like it had 6-8 door dings on each one, what's one more on the door? LOL, just kidding, dings drive me nuts. I don't park within 100 feet of anyone. I took my truck with all these crazy divots with the understanding they would be repaired. Toyota and their illustrious customer service has since told me to F' Off, there's nothing they can (will) do.

I'm honestly surprised they are doing too much to accommodate you. They could have that truck sold by the close of business, the Head Cheese guy isn't worried whether you take it or not.

Drop the price $5000, or take it to the bodyshop of your choice and fix it.

When I was younger, I would go to "Pick-n-Pull" junkyards to get parts. That set me straight about what happens to our prized possession. Many of those cars were someone's baby. Being compulsive didn't help keep them out of the boneyard. Synthetic oil, fancy waxes and treatments, films, etc.... nope didn't matter. Now I'm standing on the crumpled hood of your "baby" as I try to crawl into the car that's stacked on it.

Bought my wife a new Toyota, one month later it's been damaged 5 times. Not worth it to care.

However, I do believe that the crappy way a dealership treats us these days they better deliver perfection. I'd expect no less, or I want more discounts. Then I'm driving to the nearest Walmart and parking wherever I want.....

Lol judging ppl by the trim they drive.

Fyi, stop judging ppl by what they drive/look

I wanted a platinum and then limited for 6+ weeks, eventually saw a 53k sr5 and got that, I can buy outright a capstone if I wanted, never really thought it was worth it though, after comparing the 53k sr5, to the 6-12k more limited/platinums, I couldn't see the value imo. Who cares about fake leather seats and a 14inch screen, I can add that stuff for like under $2k.

I live in Cali and have crazy registration fees, my registration was almost $770 for a 53k truck, Imma guess those buying limiteds and up may have like a $1k+ registration bill annually.

Hell yes OP, hold them to it. It's your truck, you are the customer. If more consumers shared your mindset, then there would be fewer instances of this nonsense.

70k for a half ton... It had better give me a reach-around as I drive it and a kiss on the back of the neck when I park it.

Any new vehicle should not be presented to a buyer with a ding or dent regardless of price, I’d expect them to fix it and provide some compensation for the inconvenience, I certainly wouldn’t go for the jugular over it, hopefully they take care of you.

The PDR guy did a good job. Cannot tell there was a ding at all. Took delivery this evening and drove her home. Appreciate everyone's input.

Thx. Because of the delay for the PDR guy it was after dark when I got her home so no pics yet. It was a little tight getting it in the garage next to the wife's Avalon but it's in. Really liked the way it drove. The headlights are amazing, especially on high beam.

Got the OEM mud guards installed and the Black Armour bed mat put in. Tomorrow will tackle the Tonneau cover, Cat shield, Putco 60" rear light bar and the rest of the accessories. Now waiting for the bed step which is on back order, and the Power Running Boards.
