So the EC C922 is a winner. Pretty hot, very delicious.

The generosity of some people! Thanks to @txagg I got this bottle. Excited to drink it but need to wait for it to warm up to room temp :)

ABC here is controlled by the state and every county has an ABC board. My local board did a bourbon drop this past Saturday...144 bottles of Buffalo Trace and 18 bottles of Blanton's per store, 1 bottle per person. The lines were around the building at a couple of stores and I was in line for a little over an hour. I missed the Blanton's by 3 people but did get the Buffalo Trace. Probably crack it open on Christmas.

We have a Liquor Control Commission here... All stores are owned/ran by the State :(

Anyhow, the only thing sold outside of the state owned stores is Wine/Beer (which is nice), but everything else is controlled/sold by the State. So, one benefit to that is that the state sets pricing (basically MSRP) for the most part, including Pappy's, Blanton's, the rest of Buffalo Trace line, etc. However, anything w/limited availability is done through a state based lottery. I've put in for most of the offerings for the last 3 years (about 5 lotteries), and so far have not received anything; but, for those that do, they get to purchase at very reasonable pricing.

Having moved here from Vegas, I have to say that I preferred the first come first served approach (even w/market driven supply/demand pricing) over the state having control of the retail liquor market...

Pretty much the same as NC. I don’t know what other counties do, but I’m on an email distro list for the local board so I’ll get an email when they do “drops”. SC is about an hour drive and they have liquor in privately owned shops as well as Total Wine, Costco, etc. It does keep the price relatively normal but it also seems to choke supply.

We are lucky that it's not an allocated product here so you can get more than one with no wait and they're $26 each.

Cracked this one open last night. For the price and how hard it was to get I’d say to stick to their standard “high rye” 111 proof offering even though this one was a tad more complex and had a longer finish.

Good to know, I’ve been looking at their seasonal release this year and wondering if I should grab any. That high rye is excellent.

Not a big fan of High West, but hear good things about this one. The fact that I got it at retail and secondary is, at its cheapest, $499, was a contributing factor too.

I think retail is 150 or 170, secondary is 500. Crazy times we live in.

Of course there are four Rose's BSSiB's that are listed for 999.99 so anything is possible.

Oh I misread. Thought you paid 500. 170 is still pretty high for me but when supply is low I get it
