If you live in North Texas and are looking for a cat protector/skid, this is the one. It’s made with 11 gauge cold rolled steel (if I recall correctly), fits 2.0 and 2.5 gen tundras, comes w all the required hardware, and covers all 4 cats. You can buy it bare metal ($275) or have it powder coated for ($400). The product is great, but I gotta praise Nathan (GFMW). He seems like a really genuine and honest guy. I have nothing but nice things to say about him. I recently made comments about JBA and their awesome customer service, and I’d say N’s is X10 better. Here’s his number: +1 (817) 475-6905 . I was originally going to bedline the plate myself, but the thought of that gave me a headache. So, I had Nathan do it and he did a ridiculously good job with the powder coat. It’s so good I might put out the idea of asking him to get rid of the powder coat on my Jeeps f&r bumpers, so he can powder coat them himself… If you’re on edge between the two options, just opt for the power coat. It’s only $125 difference.
I’d even go as far to say this can be a light duty skid plate. I was playing around in some mud yesterday, and my dumb ass slammed right down on a rock. Damage? Just a mark that I rubbed off the plate with my finger. My only recommendation, make sure you have friends. Was a bitch to put on by myself. 06B5C51C-13D6-4E41-AE95-30288E45C490.jpgFCD27604-6E50-4EFB-8DD2-7A8D81C65524.jpg 3F869B08-2B92-4080-AABC-FC5C8A8DC0BD.jpg

There was another thread where the member basically said the same as you. Glad it worked out. Maybe @Gforcemetalworks will make a thread so folks can more easily find him and post their real world feedback

Nothing feels better than to have your character make a positive impact on someone. Thanks TexMedic for the awesome compliment!! I was not sure if I could post items for sale on here or not, so I let my customers do the talking. If allowed, I would love to post the guards for sale. I am a one man shop, so I cannot “mass produce” them, but I am usually good for 3-4 per week if needed. Thanks again!!

It kind of looks like it would, but does anyone know if the front of the plate will integrate with the back of the RCI engine skidplate? I’m assuming those 2 slots at the front where it bolts to the crossmember could line up with the skid plate slots, so long as the bolts are long enough to engage both of the plates stacked on eachother.

Not sure if they would line up exactly. Assuming they did, you would need a longer bolt due to the overlap. You could possibly pull it off with the bolt length Nathan gives you, but I personally wouldn’t be comfortable with that little of thread on the bolt. Just have to make sure the square part of the (new) bolt fits into the front slot cutouts. Not sure if this helps- just answered because it’s better than nothing.

I think it could be made to work, I was just crawling around under there getting some pictures. The supplied bolts with the RCI skid are plenty extra long it appears. The bolts for the skid are 10.25” on center.

You might have to play around with the order of the two plates and which one touches the crossmember first, assuming you do get the cat cover. If you end up going for it, let me know how it goes. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting the RCI engine skid. Good luck.

The front slots on my cat shield are 10.25 on center. It works perfect with the TRD skid plate. I bet the RCI plate uses the same holes.
