Doing my first oil change on my newly acquired used 2017 2wd tundra I noticed my depending on what you call it (skid plate or radiator support splash shield or engine undercover) was missing and I am was looking online to buy another OEM part and each dealer on toyota parts.com calls it a different name ??

there are 2 different lower engine shields listed for my vin # and part#514100c030 says its for my 2wd specifically

I was wondering if the other lower engine shield with part #514100c010 which says for 4wd would also fit on my 2wd ?

Just checking to see if the 4wd engine shield would fit and if anyone else has installed it on their 2wd tundra ?

Did not want to be hit with the 35% restocking fee.

    thank you for any help

I believe that it would fit. Mounting might be an issue if the captured nuts aren’t present on your truck.

Might want to look for pictures of the 4x4 plate and make sure your truck has the captured/fixed nuts for mounting in the correct spots.

Yes thank you, I did look and I do have 3 threaded holes that seem to be in the correct spots on the crossmember and I also have the 3 plastic tabs with screws and also the 2 threaded holes on the lower radiator support bar, the only thing keeping me from ordering is Toyota dealer said the smaller shield with part #514100c030 is the only one that will work on 2wd but boy it sure looks like it would all line up. I appreciate the help it just feels like a gamble to order the larger shield part #514100c010 which is around $300 with a 35% restock fee.

    thank you for your help

I bet if you look around, CL, FB, here, or even a local pull a part, you can probably find one used for really cheap. You really dont need to buy new on the splash shield, as long as it is not bent up, broken, some cleaning and a quick rattle can paint will have it looking good and it will function as new. I wouldn't spend 300 for one new, better options if you are spending that cash.

Wow, I had no idea they were that expensive. ($300)

at that price, i would spend a little more and get better coverage and make oil changes easier. That plate is a royal pain to reinstall after every oil and filter change.

I hear alot of people say how difficult it is to reinstall.
1 guy said he cut off the hooks which made it easy to install

That's not a bad idea. I might give that a try. The hooks are definitely part of the reinstall issue.

    And my lack of patience.
