I did the white ones on my limited. The flat black ones felt cheaper to me when I was at the the dealer looking at them trying to decide. They had more play in the handle than the painted or chrome ones.

@DexterL can you share some more pictures of your chrome delete? I also have a 1794 (black) and want to de-chrome next year. I wanted to see how you did the 1794 badging section. Is it all vinyl wrap including trim and handles?

    Thanks and great looking rig.

@DexterL NM, saw the OEM parts thread and built a cart to order (via Roman).

Did you install it all yourself or through a dealer?

@KelticK9 looks like you have a midnight black 1794 as well - did you end up doing the chrome delete? Did you do the install? Would enjoy seeing a picture.

thanks guys…thinking I may do this sooner than I planned.

My buddy Michael at adventure motors wrapped the grill for me, the rest of the parts I did myself. The 1794 badges I pulled off and apart- Platidipped the 1794 part then peeled the bronze sections off with a toothpick. I then put them inside platinum badges and put new 3m tape on them (better than factory) and reapplied

Wow. Not your first rodeo? Would enjoy seeing some more picks of your rig. Dig the bumper - thinking I will go with the CBI Covert with the bar.

But door handle caps, mirror caps, etc, was that via Roman? Was changing the window trim our very difficult?

I want to say mirror caps and handles were through cool springs, other parts from sparks and window trim and tailgate handle from local dealer. Window trim is easy, follow the guide someone posted here. I did have a bunch of pieces show up damaged to the dealer that we were constantly chasing- they don’t put some of the pieces in cardboard and bend during shipping. my drivers side door I couldn’t get to seat (last pieces of the puzzle with busted oem pieces). Finally after trying 3-4 of them and thinking they were all wrong I noticed the clips weren’t aligned and got it seated perfectly with no issues following!

Grille Surround, for sure. Handles and Bumpers are still in the air. I'll have to talk to the production team to see what they are up to, but I assume at least the bumpers will show up at some point at very least.

I don't want to make any promises, but I'll see if the higher-ups will let me run a Tundras.com exclusive Group Buy when they're released.

Thank you for sharing am - that really looks great. I’m even more tempted to follow suit now. Mine is black, so think it will improve the look dramatically.

one clarifying question - I think you said you ended up doing a color wrap match on the mustache vs buying the the part, which comes in back as paintable. Is that correct?

Would also be grateful for a closeup or 2 of the badging in the side. That is the one I am most concerned about cause I want it to turn out good.

We're within a month or two, last I heard. But it all depends on how quickly our engineers can work. We're striving to be as close to perfect the first time around.

As for catalog models, we'd only want someone local to the Greater Sacramento/Auburn Foothills/Western Nevada County areas to model their truck for us. I'm in charge of taking photos and producing instructional videos. However, we might already have something lined up for when these are released, but I don't think I'm allowed to talk about what that means.

I am in Seattle. Used to live in Sac. Darn.

to make sure I am clear, I could use this to cover the mustache in the front and then the L/R chrome on the back bumper? Just those parts, right? How does it adhere?

    thanks.

I had the front mustache and flavor savor wrapped that was chrome with colorxlabs vinyl. It was expensive, but no ability to buy painted parts at that time. Will snag a badge photo later on today or tomorrow for you

Same here! Only thing I'm dreading is taking the photos of the finished product. They're going to be so big and awkward! We don't have a proper photo booth or anywhere to hang them. I'll just have finagle something...

Just try to get it done before Christmas and drop by the mall and have it sit on Santa's lap for a nice photo. ;)

I am really interested in this seeing that I was contemplating buying a new mustache in the paintable black. Is install pretty straight forward?

Keep us updated on timing (or we will ask every other day - ha)

The only miracle worker this time of year is a jolly, old, fat guy dressed in red. :santa:

To tell you the truth, we're probably looking at early 2023. We still have to make the tool that makes the part and prototype the part.

But I feel like I enter the CAD Dungeon to ask about it everyday :boink:
it IS on the top of the list and I do see daily changes being uploaded to our cloud software, so it's definitely moving along!

Anyone know how much vinyl wrap material it would take to wrap just the handle covers on a crew cab limited? I found a company that makes vinyl wrap in Wind Chill Pearl. I could just measure it but my truck is in the shop getting the lift kit installed and we are in the middle of a blizzard. The shop is colorxlabs.com

That’s the wrap I used for my mustache. You’ll need at least 2ft if not 4ft in length. Are the handles all chrome, or chrome and black? Honestly I would just buy the pre painted oem handles or get black overlays for them, wrap on handles won’t last forever

I ordered a 24”x12” sheet thinking it would be plenty for just the 4 handle covers. Do you think the handle covers can be wrapped without having to go through the hassle of prying them off, cleaning off that adhesive and reattaching them? I’d like to wrap them in place if possible.

What kind of 3M tape should be used to reapply the handle? I would think it would be as thin as possible. Did you use a couple strips of tape along the whole length of the handle? Thanks!

    just
This is one area specifically that when I do it, I will without a doubt do new caps - probably my big chrome mirrors too. Just my opinion.

It's called VHB tape. I got a half inch wide roll and just trimmed a bunch of strips to cover the area.

You are more skillful and patient than me. I tried taking one cover off with trim removal type wedge tool and gave up. All that flexing of the handle while trying to do it didn’t seem good for the handle gaskets either. What kind of plastic wedges are those in your pictures?

The first one definitely takes some patience. Once you get that first one off, you'll be able to get the other 3 off much more smoothly. You just need to get a feel for how they want to come off. I was using a composite shim like this one: https://www.amazon.com/TUFFBOY-Composite-Levelers-Great-Improvement-Furniture/dp/B08P55DXZ5

...well, I just stumbled upon this 1794 that Westcott Designs had in their shop and did a video of their spacer kit - they put the 35 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on, which is what I am doing...but that isn't what caught me ---> check out the front grill and chrome delete on this truck ---> FML looks like I will be spending some $$$ in 2023 to do the grill and chrome delete now. Looks amazing...
