Yeah that's right, I have a 2018 tundra with only 20000 miles and in excellent condition. Mint condition actually , the only issue is the top of my lenses for my headlights is very faded.
I told the dealer about it and they said it's because I keep it outside. A truck that's only 5 years old and a toyota. That does not sound right. I have a Honda Accord that's 10 years old and the headlight lenses are perfect and that's parked out side too. Anyone have that issue? Maybe I should call. Toyota ? The main head quarters. Does anyone have there number? Thanks.

Fairly normal, happens more with headlights that have a horizonal surface, water and dirt sits on them and degrade/oxidize the plastic over time. That can easily be taken care of with a headlight cleaning/restore kit. Mequiars HD kit is great and there are other good options, you can easily find them at any parts store, walmart, etc.

Keeping the headlights waxed will go a long way in keeping them from oxidizing like that.

Polish the faded part with any headlight lens restoration kit. Cover with UV protection lacquer (Sylvania has it). Polyurethane film is optional, it is sort of hard to apply on a damaged plastic, it will look less than ideal and will fade itself in a few years.

Most importantly, park the truck with the frontend away from the sun and use UV protectants like 303 UV Protectant Wipes from time to time, on all plastic and rubber parts. Part number is 30321. I also use 30324 rubber protectant.

Yeah, I have PU film applied on headlights on all 3 vehicles I have. Thick Lamin-X on Volvo, where it turned into a nightmare job because the headlights are curvy. Tundra got Lamin-X as well, it is not perfect, but I crush through bushes from time to time, Lamin-X protects from physical damage.

For Sequoia I've got some lesser known brand, the film was much thinner, but I was not able to apply to the whole headlight, it wrinkles under the heat gun too easily. Had to cut it for the front flattish area only.
