Lost Profile

Anyone lose their profile in their truck tonight or did I get visited by gremlins? I have no settings and when I try to log in it doesn't pull my profile back

 

As a matter of fact, I did.

I'm not exactly sure when it happened. I haven't driven it in two days, but when I started it up this afternoon (1630 Central) I noticed I'd lost all my presets and my profile didn't show up when my phone connected.

Busy with other things, so I haven't really investigated.

 

Hmmmmm..... I wonder if there was a server hiccup.
When I tried getting it back, I noticed there were no profiles found. It prompted me to log in which I did but that did nothing. Then I got my phone and logged into the Toyota app while sitting in the truck. It updated and now shows my name as logged into the truck but i still lost all my radio presets and my profile picture is now blank.

 

Sorry to sidetrack....but can the infotainment and truck function normally without a "profile" because glitches like this are why I avoided connected tech....

 

I did also, about 5pm mountain time I noticed it. Didn't pay it much attention on the drive back until i saw this post.

 

I did too. Central Kentucky around 7:00pm eastern time.

Let's see what Toyota says... Definitely their backend service crapped out! Hopefully they'll fix it.

 

Yup mine happened around 4pm central. It was a quick flicker and my screen went from dark mode to light and I lost all my settings. So there had to been network system hiccup. Glad it jus wasn't mine

 

No issue on my end.

 

So it seems that sitting in the truck and logging into the Toyota app on your phone helps, but not all of your settings come back. I had a profile picture that has yet to come back, and I lost all of my radio favorites and notifications. I reset what I could, but still waiting for my profile picture. Don't really care about the profile picture, but it will gauge how much is back online. If I get a chance today and can dig up the right support number I'll call and see what the situation is.

Those of you who say everything is ok do you have a profile set up that when you start your truck it says "Welcome <your name>"? Do you have your FOB tied to the settings in your truck? I believe all of this was affected with whatever happened.

If I get anything useful when I call I'll report back.

 

Pretty sure Toyota knows better than to mess with War Machine’s settings.

As annoying as it is, I'm glad its not just me.

 

I just got off the phone with Brittany who was pretty helpful. Talking to her, I also found out that my address got erased from my profile so she put that back in for me. She said they did not see anything bad happen last night, but I told her that it happened to a bunch of people right around the same time last night so something had to happen. She said my profile looks ok to her on their end right now, and that they don't save radio presets so yeah, I lost those.

She also said the more people that call with the issue, they will be forced to open an investigation and maybe we'll get better answers, so if you have a chance and have about 15 minutes today, the phone number is 800-331-4331 and I chose multimedia support. At the very least, you can have them check your profile on their end to see if its screwed up.

I had this happen as well around 5:30ET, i managed to get my profile logged back in this morning but all my settings / presets are gone. I noticed too that i had to re-sign in on my phone including the one-time passcode, my fingerprint authentication was no longer working.

 

Are you guys telling me, that your radio settings will disappear and you need to call customer service to resolve it?

I'm trying to figure out why this would make sense, I don't want to buy one of these trucks if my radio can be borked remotely by inept people....

Maybe those of you who lost your profile said something "incorrect" online somewhere?

 

No once your radio presets are gone, they're gone. Its your profile you can reload to your truck from your phone. Best I can tell you can either log back in on the app on your phone, or log in from the truck using the email address/password you use on the app.

I'm trying to figure out if I lost anything else besides my radio presets. But she explicitly said they don't keep presets on their end. But it sounds like if one or two people call, its a blip If more call, its a problem/investigation.

Maybe we'll get our stuff back if they look into it.

It just looks like a computer burp to me. It sucks, but it happens. Nothing is 100%.

 

Same here - was working fine yesterday and this morning the profile and presets were gone. Haven't tried to log back in, yet.

 

Mine lost a couple of settings other than the presets, one of them being the annoying beep every time you touch the screen. I did not have to call anyone, just had to log back in on the truck as well as my phone

 

So mine seemed to be this morning at 8:15 central time. I had them when I left the house. I turned my truck off and took my kid into school. When I came back out, the radio presets were all gone. My profile was still there though, and I'm not sure if anything else was affected.

 

Haha I blamed my son because had to take my truck. I’m like what the hell did you do to my presets and why am I not logged in. I was hoping you guys were going to say Toyota did a major update and I know longer need to see my fuel gauge reset to full. All good now on my end. I may take pictures of my presets in case it happens again

 

Does the truck have to be connected? Or is that just a paid option?

 

I knew I'd find the answers here! I'm glad it's not just me. No biggie... it's just a minor inconvenience to reset my XM favorites.

And I don’t even own a 3rd gen.

 

I had screen beep come back and presets lost. Had been having to type my pin again a couple times in the last week after not having the issue for months. No change in key fob or phone on me

 

I also lost my preset stations. I called Toyota @ 800-331-4331. Seemed to be a waste of time, I was told they have no record of this happening to anyone else.

 

I didn't lose my entire profile, but I did lose all of my presets. I thought it was very odd. Glad to read this thread and learn it wasn't just me. Misery loves company, I guess.

 

Or...instead of spending 15 mins on the phone with Toyota, you just spend 5 mins re-entering your presets.

 

Yup! Happened to me last night. Thought it was just me.
All my presets are gone and assigned me some random ones.
It's annoying because there's XM radio stations that are now presets that I cant un-preset since im not a subscriber

 

Happened to me yesterday 4pm pacific time and I have not been able to preset my radio stations it will not stored my preset.

dark screen setting gone back to auto too.

no other settings lost that I can tell.

note I was on my phone when it happened and saw a request to connect to app on my phone when I turned my truck on and didn’t pay attention just hit the allow button and this morning I noticed my settings changed.
