You really are my spirit animal. :fistbump:

That sucks man. I hope it at least helps.

@RobertD tagged me on it too. Much appreciated, gents. I am pretty sure I'd break my FOB trying this. Losing the mini key has always kept me away from the FOB swaps.

Doubt they'll push the envelope in the Taco. It's going to be mavricked. Sad, because they're already developing a competitor for that class.

Green-ness is killing utility, and diversity. I'm saddened to think I am witnessing the slow, agonizing death of car culture. In another couple decades they'll just be a means of conveyance; no more exciting or unique than a generic taxi or city bus.

I agree in general. However, I am excited about autonomous cars from a taxi perspective. I’d love it if I could just walk out the front door at home and climb into a car that delivers me to work. Then the same on the return. That saves me a lot of stress. But I still want my own personal ride for evenings and weekends.

Automated transportations and personal transportation are mutually exclusive. People are too unpredictable, entitled, and stupid for automated systems to effectively react to them.

    Visual aid:

When have you ever seen a zipper merge that actually worked? Never. Because it requires too much precision and perfect communication and trust to actually function. All it takes is somebody going a little off in speed, or not trusting they'll be let in, or any of a billion other human variables to ruin it. Looks great on paper, mathematically it's the best way, and it's also completely impossible in the general public. Automated cars would attempt it and be flummoxed by idiots.

You can't have both. I'd rather have my free movement, inspiring vehicles, and all the danger and choas of humans driving than the soulless mechanical precision of automation.

I think automated travel by air will be more successful more quickly for this very reason. In the sky you have multiple planes of operation, which can be used for individual reasons (freight, public transportation, long distance travel, short distance travel, etc.) on the ground everything functions on a single plane. In the sky you can have everything autonomous, as with synchronized drone dancing, so that no one is in anyone's way, and everyone is safe. On the ground, at least for the foreseeable future, a bunch of people like me are going to want to manage their accelerator and steering wheel themselves, which introduces failure in either human judgment or in autonomy programming trying to accommodate human judgment.

Not sure where it's at at the moment, but Uber was in beta testing for autonomous cars before the plague hit. It went mostly well, but occasionally horrific.

This is exactly why personal transportation will be a thing of the past in the near future. We've seen society's response to various "movements" over the last few years, and it will simply take a good strong "sales pitch" to go automated...

Why in the hell do I have a Nicolas Cage Cardboard Cutout in my Amazon feed????

What's even worse, is now (well I still got the nick cage thing) but there is also a Men's Comfy Nightshirt; which looks like it's depicting some dude wearing nothing but a shirt down to his mid thigh... aside from just the weirdness of the whole thing :smash:, who the hell could sleep in something like that????

So, our local dealer got one of these in this weekend. I pulled in to take a look at it since it was Sunday and no one would bother me. I have to say the Burnt Orange is definitely a much better color on the Taco than the Tundra. I'm not an orange fan, but if I owned a Taco, I could do it in orange...

I don't. Thus the need for a truck. :muscleflexing:

In a serious pinch I have borrowed a plow truck and a backhoe from work in the past.
