Well it’s a sweet pic is it not? Wouldn’t you want to be in the woods with your truck?
Secondly he helped facilitate something we’ve never really done here before, I won’t read it for you, just my opinion, MAN!

My boys just watched this for the first time this weekend, and the older one was pretty excited about the treasure. But as a kid with no cable growing up; I really wish they had the octopus in the movie release. In the UPN18 version it was edited with a octopus/kraken……
They even mention it in the normal movie when it’s not shown.
Goonies is deep in my heart, every family dinner at my uncles we would start it, never finish it, and just start it over the next time at his house.

About every third time I click alerts or my inbox I click on the truck instead…
Now I’ll be sitting there asking myself “what should I add to my truck next?!”

    It is.
    Thank you.
The pic is actually in my driveway…taken just this morning.

As a PNW’er AND a child of the 80’s (born ‘76), Goonies has a special place in my heart. We’ve been to the house in Astoria, toured the museum that is the old mail in Astoria (used in the opening scene), been all around Canon Beach (the rock formations) and raised our kids on the movie.

Yes, the original script and filming has a squid/octopus in the water at the pirate ship at the end, but they cut it from the final edit for length…but several other lined in the film reference it and cause confusion. The Cyndi Lauper music video also has the leviathan/kraken in it as well.

True story. “Upgraded” the stock radio in my ‘05 Taco to a 2015 stock POS one. Looks nicer and has BT (no nav). BT needs a microphone so I ordered one, $65 spent there. Also needed an antenna adapter to get FM working. So, one week with no tunes (could have swapped the old radio back) and tonight I get the antenna adapter in.

TLDR, all happy I get crappy FM radio, effectively bringing me back to the starting line. Hahaha.

I'm actually in the middle of switching up the suspension again, wasn't a fan of the Ironman setup.
Rear is done, might tackle the front this week.

Nice! Man, I really need to get this household shit done so I can slap in my suspension.

If I can't manage to get it done by end of January, I'm just paying someone to do it. It's going to hurt, but I'm not going to let me suspension turn into what happened with my backup camera, subs, and auto-dim rearview :D

(I just hate letting other people touch my truck while I'm not looking!)

Brand new one. For 01-04. But it’s going under the 94k mile 98 supercharged manual taco

I get that! I've got dealer lifetime oil changes for the Sequoia and I'm still nervous about turning the keys over every time.

I could never get into that movie when it came out as I was a teenager at the time. The goal of my friends and I at the time was how we were going to sneak into the local theater and see Terminator the year after it came out. Nowadays I’ve yet to see any kid get kicked out an R-rated movie. All they care about now is that you paid for it.

Geeky side of me loved it, but I think it helps to be a little bit of a nerdy misfit to fully appreciate the movie. The whole thing is basically a big FU to everyone that's not nerdy/geeky, basically geeks and freaks getting the best of: Hardened criminals, jocks, big money banks, etc. And impressing the ladies. As someone that was definitely edgy, but too smart for my own good as a kid, it jibed with me.

It's like ... Revenge of the Nerds, but PACNW style, and not so pocket-protector-nerdish.

I got a dream machine router. I think it's a dream machine. Kind of a funny shaped white thing with a blue ring. It was recommended by a low volt guy to me a few years ago so I bought it. It has a bunch of weird numbers and graphs when I open it so I don't fuck with it. It's like trying to read Japanese.

    You and me both brotha.

whats wrong with my trucks setup? :(

After tax, yep. Crazy, right? Price has jacked up twice in in the last 18-24 months, I think to the tun of about 50% (~$300)

    Probably this one, then?

I normally don't mess with their standalone units like that. I prefer using the 19" rackmount stuff, because for $75ish more, you get so much extra non-POE functionality (NVR, access control, telephony) with the DreamMachine Pro.

But for people who need POE and only want one device to run up to 8 POE devices - WAPs, Cameras, access control - the DreamMachine Pro SE (special edition) at $499 is an all-in-one solution saving you $$ on buying POE switches.

There are a plethora of vertical wall-mount solutions to easily slap something like this in a closet, like this for vertical, or like this for horizontal. I prefer Startech's stuff, they reinforce racks better than all other vendors.

Those are both just 2U in size (compact), if you needed to rack up more than 2 devices, they also make great 4U, 6U or larger racks - the one I pictured above is their 12U adjustable rack, which is a killer deal.

It really is a robust unit though, the DreamMachine. As long as you have it setup for auto-updating, you're golden. Super easy to manage. Very powerful features too, if you know what the hell all of it is.
