The lat pulldown was a game changer for me. It really opened up the range of exercises I could do and I have an issue with boredom so exercise variety is a must. I upgraded from a Fitness Gear rack where I was constantly hitting the uprights with my weights and it’d throw me off so I’d have to do a lot of exercises with my barbell outside of the rack. When I ordered this, I ordered it tall (93”) and long (41”) so I can do just about everything inside of it. I didn’t go 6 posts because of the added cost and it didn’t seem that functional to me - the Titan weight tree was more bang for the buck and didn’t take up all of the space. I was able to use the money I saved and bought my Titan Leg Curl machine.

Here’s a different pic of my home gym set up.

I still need to add a lat pull down to my rack. I didn't have the space for it before so I'd been making due with one of these, and it actually works! But the manuf. (Hulkfit) also decided to release a version 2 of their lat pulldown, and in doing so doubled the price. Seems if anything companies learned from the crap that hit the fan the last 2.5 years, apparently it is that it's ok to jack up prices.

I paid A LOT more for my setup than I wanted. My budget was $2k and I think I came out right there thanks to my military discount and some sales they had going on at the time. Probably near double of what it would have been if I had bought it before everything went crazy. My wife didn’t quite understand it but came around once she saw how much I’ve used it (and that I’ve packed on a little muscle :)).

Bummed that the cable crossover attachment that goes with my rack won't fit in my workout space. The dimensions on the product were wrong on the website, so back it goes.

I ended up ordering one of these instead, and if it works out ok I'll probably add another to get a proper crossover setup. I also ordered the lat pulldown attachment for my rack. Can't wait!

That sucks. They make some for my setup.but the cost is a little too $$$$.

worked out for the first time in a month and it felt great. I hung a tv that I thought was dead and later figured out it wasn’t in our office on a swingout mount. Hiioked my watch up to Apple Fitness and did some rowing. This should help with my cardio boredom issues.

It's the Titan Fitness Short Wall Mounted Pulley Tower V3. It's 80.5" to the top of the unit, but not sure what the height is of the pulley at the highest setting. There's a "Tall" version that's 84.5".

I thought about going with the tall version (I'm 6'1"), but I figured 4" difference isn't going to be that drastic, especially considering the 2 other models I was looking at were within an inch in height so I figured that was the norm.

I've been setting our garage up and what got me going was getting a spin bike and treadmill working with a standalone installation of Zwift. ERG mode while following predefined plans has taken away all boredom.

That's really cool! I'm living in the old days with my dungeon setup and no technology, not even a stereo lol.

That's awesome. I'm only a month in, so my numbers are laughable. Had put fitness off for a few years but getting back into the swing of it.

I'm not paying the monthly fee for Zwift and actually am using a self-hosted server (check out Zwift-offline on Git if you're interested). You get all of the functionality, and can ride ghosts, but you're obviously not connected and can't ride with others/race.

I caught the flu sometime last week. Been laid up since Tuesday. Finally starting to feel better, but for once training has been the last thing on my mind. I would have taken the entire last week off anyway, which I normally do annually to give my body a break so I guess it worked out. But man, as I get older getting sick is tougher and tougher to deal with. I'd rather be training.

My training philosophy for the new year that I live by: When it comes to fitness and diet, every day is new year's day. So don't wait for Jan. 1 to try and make a change.

Hard to put on muscle when you're in a calorie deficit and losing weight. Not impossible just very difficult.

Yes, I've cut out all sugar, fats (bad), fried foods, tons of water, I love my beer, lots of chicken, fish (baked), red meat, avocado as a snack, some pork, veggies, I do hour walking, hour on a bike, hour on elliptical, then free weights or machine weights

Reduce the amount of time spent doing cardio and focus on free weights/ machine weights. Increase your caloric intake with emphasis on consuming enough protein.

Don't forget your carbs. Add some toast or oats for breakfast, some rice with your chicken breast.

You will gain weight, but you'd be putting on lean muscle mass with how strict your diet is and how consistent you work out.
