Freedom Offroad coilovers installed

Back again..
Okay so I removed the 2" levelling kit (spacer) I had and installed the Freedom Offroad coilovers, UCAs and shackle lift for the rear.
Easy install, the same as swapping any strut.

Not sure what exactly its "set" to, but I do have room to raise it higher if needed. I have my shackles set to 2" and the front is a touch lower still, so I would estimate about 3.5" of lift in the front.
It rides amazing, much better than the spacer lift and so far zero issues or concerns. I would recommend these based on my experience so far. I snagged the coils from extremeterrain for $330.

 

It looks to me like you have way to much preload on the spring, and the spring will bind against itself during compression long before the shock reaches the end of its compression stroke. But I'm just going by what I see, and I could be completely wrong.

 

Could be, haven’t felt anything through day to day driving to indicate that as of yet though. I can see how it looks that way, I’ll update the post if I need to adjust the coils and add a spacer to reduce pre-load. Hoping to not have to.

 

I installed their UCA with the Eibach stage 2 coil overs. Their arms are really nice and made well.

 

Without knowing the spring rate (weight rating and length) you cannot tell how much preload is on that spring, especially not by just glancing at it. Thread showing does not equal preload

 

I was just going by how the spring looked. Do you think you could stick your finger in the gap of that spring? It looks way too compressed.

But as you said, it could just be how that spring is made, and it could be completely incorrect for that application. But I don't see that spring being able to compress more than a few inches before it sandwiches onto itself.

 

Still cant make an accurate recommendation without knowing the facts. I would hate for the OP to second guess their setup based on looks. There is a lot more to it.

 

I just had the Freedom coilovers put in my truck. My mechanic said to drive it for a week then adjust the height. Are they easy to adjust the height on?

 

Are these any good? I need to replace my front struts as my stock ones are leaking. I have a Pro Comp stage 1, 4" bracket lift that retained the the stock coil overs and employed a spacer. Since I will be getting new struts I figured that I would take this opportunity to possibly upgrade by getting a coil over that would eliminate the spacer all together. My initial thought was to get the Bilstein 6112 but it was suggested to me if I wanted to get rid of the spacers I should go with ICON's 58751-CB 2.5" remote reservoir coil overs at almost $2,000.00. That is a little much. So I was wondering how these Freedom coil overs are for the price.

 

I just had the Freedom struts put in my Tundra about a week ago along with new Bilstein shocks in the back. My mechanic said they looked really good and was impressed at the price. They ride great. My mechanic recommended I drive it for a week or so, then adjust the height.

 

Would y'all actually recommend this shock? Looking at bilstein 6112s, these and eibachs. Currently on a 4in sst ready lift kit and wanting to stay around my current height! Much appreciated!
