Can? Maybe they could but you're looking at a decent repair bill, if you can get the force and leverage to crush your seat mechanisms.

If you do it the way it's built, the bottom seats flip upward - a thing I actually prefer, weird though I might be.. Makes it great for hauling larger stuff that I might not want in the bed to avoid the elements.

That makes sense. I wanted to try and use the space behind the seats for storage.

    Yeah only up.

my Tacoma goes down with storage behind it. really like that andhas storage compartments under the seats. Also an overhead molle rack.

So my tundra I just shove everything under and behind the back seats. No as easily accessible but works

Same. Unfortunately because it's hard to see, I forget what all I have back there. :)

Doublecabs can be modified to have fold down seats but I am not sure on a crewmax. There is decent room behind a doublecab rear seat.

Modding the back seat to have the back fold down is pretty easy and there is a sticky diy thread somewhere that's shows exactly how to do it. Just have remove a few things and cut a little off the brackets that hook onto the back of the cab.

I think I read that you can't do the Mod on a Crewmax because of the roll down rear window. I could be wrong though.

So sorry, didn't catch that it was a crew cab. I have the dumb.

Yeah reading up on it now (have only owned doublecabs) sounds like the rear seat on a crewmax is somewhat fixed to the floor and doesn’t attach/slide like the double cab seat does thus apparently no easy rear seat mod.

Saturday will be 2 weeks with new2me 21 1794 (crew cab). The stupid hump under seats is my worst complaint so far. Realize can cut to add some after market bins. Second worst is not being able to pull forward the seat backs - would be nice to hang some tools and store some emergency blankets, etc.

Ah well, less storage means less stuff in cab to cut into mediocre payload (I knew that before buying so not whining).

I was looking behind the rear seat yesterday and it just seems like a waste not to use the space back there. I might pull the rear seats and see about making a bracket. Anyone know if double cab seats would fit in a crewmax?

That's where your after market subs will go.

I was thinking more towards recovery gear and a rifle, but subs are cool also.
