Got the HD springs installed. Still squatting a bit. Going to install a 1" block.

Also got my e-brake light fixed. Good day. Holy crap the springs are better. No clunking and no squeaking.

I’ll measure tomorrow when it’s light out. With the cab and decked drawers I have 500 lbs on there. I have too much lift on the front, so adding in a 1” block for $40 is reasonable. Also no more clunking!! I’m happy.

My decked drawers are 250 lbs and I figure the shell is 250 too.

Adhesive holding on the thin chrome trim? I don’t where you bought your truck but it’s just an array of funky metal clips that clip it just under the fender edge. They rust out every 5 years around here and need replacement.

Somewhat. You can pop out the metal clips from underneath the inside edge.

I could use the clips if they’re still good. There’s like 6 on each side iirc.

    Yikes.
I know you talk about insurance rates but depending on who you have and you saying you have a clean 10yr record some companies forgive your first ‘accident’ and this may not raise your rates. Maybe talk to your agent?

    Yep, that's pretty fecked.

Sometimes just talking to them will make your rates go up. I'm grateful I'm with USAA, they give you the option to back out pretty much at any time on a claim. When my alternator in the 1GT caught fire, and I was two shakes away from filing a comp claim on it, they paid to tow it to a dealership, have them look at it, then advised me they wouldn't cover enough to make it worthwhile, said the best bet was to just cancel the claim, no harm/no foul. I did it,. No rate hike. No pay for the tow, just 1 hour of shop time.

You’d be better off getting a used door than spending the effort trying to get that fixed.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I can't recall if there were clips, there may have been, but definitely adhesive. Like the same stuff that the badges are mounted with. I remember having to use a heat gun and tried being careful, but still scarred up the paint pretty good. No worries tho cuz that whole edge got cut off anyway. Anywho, clips or not, you can remove the chrome trim pieces and there are no visible holes in the fenders. There are with the larger paint matched flares

What plant was yours built in? Mine's Indiana born. It was also built in mid '99, so they could've discovered the adhesive wasn't necessary after the first year :notsure:
