OK I already know that the tundra does not have the best MPG but holy shit 8MPG and 5 MPG with the A/C is crazy. seriously is there something i'm missing? I have the 5.7 and the truck is 2013 with 80,000 miles.

I’ve personally never registered that low (5mpg)of a gas mileage. I live in hilly terrain and average 13.9-14.3 here lately. The worst I ever got was 6.86MPG with a supercharged Tundra pulling a 9000# travel trailer through mountainous terrain 75MPH. NASA, you’ve got some serious trouble.

I'm getting a mixed 17.2 MPG. Not sure what to tell you. Maybe reset the meter and see what happens? I've yet to break 20 MPG. Though I think it's coming soon.

    Too many to list
    Use the fuelly app.
My drunkun tundra computer tells me 17mpg
Fuelly gives me 11mpg which = my manual calculation.

I am new to Tundras but my is 13-16 avg with the a/c on with 2015 tundras Crewmax 4x4, with a leveling kit and stock tires. Fuelly gives me 14mpg . Reset the display drive it about 100 miles see what you get, keep your foot out of it.
What have you done to you Tundra?

Eric, the question asked and the first one to answer, is what size tires and what, if any, mods do you have?
If you are stock (or close), it moves the issue into another category

Joking, that's way off norm. Stock all city I think is around 13mpg, approaching 10mpg on heavy rim/tires, unless you're in rush hour all day every day.

What are your driving conditions and habits(stop/go city driving, flooring it at each stop, etc.). Are you pulling or hauling anything? Is the parking break set? Any info will be helpful.

truck is empty, no hauling and I am driving in the city from job to job and i am very light on the gas pedal..... I will cringe if i have the parking break on .

I am thinking the truck is running rich because of a bad censor...but which one?

I towed a car on an Uhaul auto transport, the AC running, on a 6 inch lift w 35’s, and dove nothing under 75mph for 200 miles, and had a little under a 1/4 tank at final destination.

How are your fluids - all clean?
    Air filter?......

    Recommendation:

pour sea foam in engine and run for about 150 miles. Then change oil and filter

Fill up tank and pour another can of sea foam. Check your mpg. Add another when fill up again, then use every other fill up.

No check engine light? Catyl and O2 sensors in good repair?

Spark plugs gapped and within use before replacing?

    Tire pressure correct?

That's mixed, I drive highway and my highway MPG is around 19. If I'm strictly stop and go with no country roads, I'll get 15 or 16. I've got a light foot.

    I bought a 2007 4.7 tundra 3yrs ago with 125K
($14K). It's a lemon of a vehicle. I am still getting 8-10mpg. I've had a complete tune up, plugs, wires, timing chain, water pump, alternator (2X), battery(2X), terminals, power cable, 2 wheel bearings, 2 speed sensors, 2 front CV shafts, 2 front brake calipers, rotors & pads, 2 back rotors & pads, e-brake, rear differential service (leak).. nearly $14K in repairs between 4 different auto shops... always asking lead mechanic if he had any thoughts on poor gas mileage, no one can come up with a fix, just says it's a lemon.
The only mod to this truck is a heavy duty ladder rack. In town driving 80% of time in a smaller town of 100K people Fargo ND. Rarely need to use 4x4... maybe 20 days of the year. Current mileage 185K. I don't haul any trailers, just load up box with painting/ drywall tools. Despite horrible gas mileage, won't sell due to amount invested into repairs..., really how much more can break on this truck..just got 2nd work vehicle, so just use it when needed..

That’s insane… I have TRD Pro suspension and 275/70R18 with a RTT on the bed and I consistently get 14 city, 18 highway.
