New Binize Box for ‘22 Tundra

Finally got around to ordering a Binize. Noticed links from other users here point to an older version w/ Android 9 on Amazon.

I checked the Binize web site and they have a new one for Tundra 2022 w/ updated Android 11.

update- received the box yesterday, plugged it up and it works flawlessly in my TRD PRO. (Must buy a Micro SD card and insert)

Will play around with it and report back.
Seems like flawless integration w/ CarPlay

 

Don’t you have android auto? I have apple so I just connect the cable and it works flawlessly.

 

This device allows you access to all apps on your phone. Netflix, YouTube, etc.

 

Oh. More distracted drivers on the roads. Some of todays society would kill them awls if the internet went down.

 

You can put the Torque app on it it and display truck vitals.

yea not sure why the tundra owners push binize so much, alot of alternatives for less then $100, just read the reviews, some are bad pos, but some are ok/great work fine.

Just make sure it has enough built in memory for your apps, or sd card or even the sim card if you want all those other features the binize does

DO NOT BUY AN ANDROID BOX That is over Android 9.

Binize screwed me on their Android 10 box that will not work on the 2022 Tundra. Their Android 9 box will work, its a bit slow, but works. I reached out to MMB which has Android 11, and they said "NO", not yet, but will let me know when they figure it out.

 

Hmmmm on their website it specifically says Tundra 2022

 

I know. I am asking them tonight. Here are the emails, I will keep everyone posted.

Nope. It's a Binize. I bought the Android 9 model which works well, a bit slow, but runs everything. So I reached out to them about a better model. They recommended their Android 10 model which I then ordered. It has never worked, as least not yet. They sent me firmware and updates but no luck. I will hopefully find out tonight (they are 12 hours ahead of my time) about that Android 11 box. Hopefully, someone will share if it works. Here was that email:

Fyi binize.com just came out in 2020, we have had android ai boxes waaaay before that (I had a box that could mirror my Android phone installed in my 2014 ram)

Whoever YouTuber or Instagram that pushed this brand is grabbing the attention of gen3 owners and riding that hype wave. Hope more ppl wakeup and realize your looking for a android/apple aibox, you don't need to be stuck to binize, some of these mfg have been in the game way longer then 2020.

 

Point taken. However, how does one pick? Look at the reviews and questions on Amazon, you'll see 214 ratings and 115 questions on the Binanze Android 9 box. While the Cheer Driving box posted above has 2 reviews and 12 questions. Bath at 4 1/2 stars. Maybe fake reviews/questions and the Cheer Driving box may be the best box available. But, how do you wake up and realize the available options without research?

 

Update. Received the box yesterday. You have to put a microSD card in it first before it works.

Plugged it up sitting in the Walgreens parking lot boot it up works like a charm.

Flawless, connectivity, and flawless integration with CarPlay.

I’ll play with it when I get back home and get it on Wi-Fi.

 

Hi, Can you confirm Android 11 is installed? Is it quick to boot? Do you have to accept an agreement at every reboot? Does it have the 3 navigation buttons at bottom of the screen?

So for so many questions, my Binize Android 9 box is slow but it does not ask to accept an agreement on boot. It is also missing navigation buttons which is a bit of a pain and I had to download an app for those. Thanks.

 

So far so good. Yes Android 11, yes 3 buttons. Ok doesn’t feel slow to boot. Maybe 15sec total.
Still playing with it. Never had one so still green.

 

can never get these binize boxes on Amazon.ca in canada. Any idea which which i should buy thats available on there?

 

you need to do more research, do you really need a box (binize) that has sim card so you will be paying a cellular provider to have 4g on it? Watch some youtube videos, read up on some forums or reddit that compares these boxes.

how much cpu power do you want, how much ram do you need, onboard storage, sd card storage

do realize the boxes have been around for a LONG time, i dont want a binize - since I dont see the need for me to have SIM card 4g from cellular provider, I would always hotspot my phone to it if I did need to use it, you can get a box for dirty cheap that only has like netflix and youtube apps preloaded on it, you can get a even cheaper box where it only mirrors your phone to the screen - and all computing power is still on your phone (really good idea).

If you dont have the time to figure it out, I guess you should just follow the hypetrain and buy a binize. I on other hand already saw a few and know my budget will be under $100 once I really want to pick one up for a long road trip.

 

A picture of the box itself and its display would be great. Also, when you get familiar with it, try the Tasker app (if know what that is?)

 

I bought the CarlinKit unit and can confirm it works great. Had it in my Amazon "saved for later" cart and got a notification they were having a Lightning Deal on it the other day. Picked it up for $100.

I am not familiar with any of these devices. Will something like this give me Android Auto on a vehicle that was not equipped with it? Like my 2019 Camry? Mostly interested in having Google maps on screen.Thanks very much.

The CarlinKit box itself has to stay wired to the head unit's USB. You can connect your phone wireless carplay to the CarlinKit box, just like you can to the stock head unit.

 

How would one know it was Android 9, 10, or 11?

 

So what's the consensus on these?

Android 11 or not?

Binize or they are just hype?

Binize seems like it had some good speed to it's interface. I want to be able to stream from my phone if wanted, but I also don't want to have to manually connect to my device every single time I get in the truck. Auto connections via Bluetooth or wifi would be nice.

 

ive got the newer binize (android 11) and am happy with it
