What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

They've got amber backlight strips

 

Everything bolted up fine with no trimming. Truck studs were essentially flush with the spacer outer edge. Wheels also have some relief in them. Drives great, no shimmys or shakes. Very happy with the 1”. 1.25” would be good as well. I’m at or just outside the fender lip.

 

After doing the front

 

10k miles and passenger headlight went out. Perfect time to make the switch to LED. Safety first, getting 3M protective film installed over the lenses. Should be buttoned up tomorrow.

Are the 3M film exact fit?

 

I got the front and back VLED kit. https://hotshotoffroad.com/collections/2014-tundra/products/footwell-led-light-kit-07-21-tundra . You also can pick them up from VLEDs website. I got mine on a the black Friday discount at VLED. Hotshot is a little bit higher but they don’t charge shipping or tax so I think it come out about the same. I still have to tune my lights in. Right now they are a little too bright when driving. I didn’t have anyone to hold the door switch in for me so I had to just guess at it. The dimmer is pretty sensitive so I gave up until I can get some help.

 

Trd pro, and ihacker setup. Don’t think it will be the exact fit ones. I could have ordered them but didn’t want to wait.

 

Most of the precut films only cover the front of the lens. I have the XBs and I had my local shop PPF them, and they had to manually cut a piece for the top. I requested that because the top is usually where the lens fading starts.

 

Finished my Chrome delete with bumpershellz grille surround, hood bulge, and bumper caps in matte black. Interior is chrome deleted with AJT parts and color matched Tufskinz for the climate rings. I’ve had the Rough Country rear bumper for over a year now. And finally installed Rough Country 2” leveling struts and N3 rear shocks over the weekend.

Throttle controllers do not increase horsepower and should not impact 0-60 times. The just change the throttle map, you set it to increase sensitivity so it is feeding more gas with less peddle, meaning you hit wide open earlier.

 

Hmmm..."earlier" to me translates to quicker...

Sounds to me like we need a real world test...I have a Pedal Commander...who wants to drag race their Tundra with mine on the Cooper River bridge near Charleston?

 

Can you do a with vs without with a Dragy? That would be 100 percent apples to apples comparison.

Be careful with these. I had a buddy who nearly lost a finger thanks to these door jam closers. Didn’t pull his hand out in time while closing the door…you can use your imagination for the outcome.

 

Added a console cover to protect the lid from my dog's claws. The lid shuts as it should. There's three elastic straps to hold the cover to the lid. Once it warms up a bit, I'll stretch it out.

 

Today on random OCD winter work. I heatshrunk the clamps holding the remote resi’s.

Added those RCI cat protector wings to the skids. Did not like that they replaced skid shoe bolts with hex drive bolts, so I used the skid shoe bolts and forgoed the bracket with speed clips they provided...man it was hard getting a wrench in there to tighten those nuts but got it done.

Not really excited about these cat guards in particular, just looks incomplete. I hope they save me from headache down the road.

 

That's the reason I don't get why they are a great idea if you have little kids..

Made the switch. Huge improvement, and pretty easy install.

 

I didn’t like the chrome on my truck or on a lot of trucks, but it looks so good here for some reason.

 

"Made the switch..." to LED headlights? To yellow fogs? To only coming out in the dark? To only making ambiguous posts? To an alternate lifestyle? Inquiring minds want to know.
