Awesome! When I was about 10 my uncle took me to see them at yellow rose. I believe it was the bloody kisses tour. Great show, Peter Steele is one of the reasons I started playing bass :headbang:

If we are going beyond the first concert, I'm in.
I only have a fraction of the ticket stubs for all the shows I've (we've) seen.

    upload_2022-12-7_1-15-26.jpg

    Back in the day.
    upload_2022-12-7_1-16-10.jpg upload_2022-12-7_1-16-26.jpg

When the kids got into their teens we saw several Edgefest shows.
Kinda like Ozzfest, a day-long show with multiple bands.
    Always pit tickets.
    Notice how in 2008 it was $11 + fees and in 2017 it was $75 + fees.

Bands I didn't get to see that are long gone?
    INXS
    Prince
    Queen
    AC/DC

Man you picked a hell of a band for your first concert. Those guys kill it live. My first concert was Bon Jovi in 1987 .

They did amazing. He had like 4 guests up on stage at times and did a few great covers. Way better than I expected. I would definitely go see him again. I did see Chris Stapleton shortly after but missed about half of it. And it was way to crowded.

If anyone digs 90s alternative/rock, Better Than Ezra puts on a great show and their live sound matches their studio sound. The singer banters with the crowd a lot.

Check out a Gwar show - just for the people watching alone it’s worth the ticket.

Really depends on what your into and it’s luck of the draw.

My personal preference is smaller venue and either older acts or “up and comers” - the older guys know how to put on a show in general and get the audience into (unless they are too wasted or just really don’t want to be playing to a half sold 400 person room) and the up and comers - you’ll find some band you love and have no idea why they never became bigger usually if you go long enough.

Just saw Jelly Roll and Shinedown a few months ago. Drove 5 hours to see them, killer concert. We’ve seen Aaron Lewis a few times and he’s awesome as well. Alan Jackson was the worst I’ve seen, used to love his music but he was boring in person.

I want to see Upchurch, Demun Jones, Adam Calhoun and five finger deathpunch.

I lucked into one concert. Walked into a convenience store to get a cappuccino, it was maybe around 9:00 after the morning rush. I didn't know it, but a local radio station had been doing a giveaway for their morning show. Anyway, there were only 2 other guys in the store, and while I was getting my drink I overhear one ask "You ready to get outta here?" The other says "Yeah, we got 2 tickets left." They both look around the store and see me. "Excuse me, we're with radio station (whatever it was, I don't recall) would you be interested in 2 free tickets to see Meatloaf?" I accepted - didn't even have to do a soundbite for the station. They just handed me the tickets, said "Have fun!" and out the door they went. Meatloaf put on a helluva stage show - Broadway meets rock concert. Glad I got to see him perform. That was back in '95 or '96.

    Other "big" concerts I went to were;

Metallica (around the time Enter Sandman was getting all the radio play)
Ozzy (his post "retirement" comeback tour)
    George Strait
    Trans Siberian Orchestra

    Smaller venues (which I prefer - while crowd surfing was an experience I'll never forget and the shows were awesome, I just don't care for big crowds) I have seen;

    Chris Cagle
    JB and the Moonshine Band
    Turnpike Troubadours
    William Clark Green
    Cody West
    Shane Smith and the Saints
    Charlie Robison
    Ricky Skaggs

If you ever get the chance to see any of our Armed Forces bands, GO! I have seen an AF and an Army concert performance and they are excellent!

Many local/small town acts (generally bluegrass, country, blues, and a few "cover" bands).

Have to agree with the above, Meatloaf knew how to put on a show, probably the same tour that I saw. Welcome to the Neighborhood in Exeter, UK in '95.

Most recently, we popped down to Columbia, SC midweek to see Manchester Orchestra, they're worth seeing if you like a high energy gig., we've seen them several times.

Worst, worst, worst, fuckin' awful gig was Bob Dylan, just don't.

Saw James Taylor and Jackson Browne last year, great show for a pair of coffin dodgers.

I prefer pub gigs, way back I recall sitting cross legged on the floor with about 20 other people chilling out with Fairport Convention but it's Ska and Reggae that really rock my boat.

Best concert was Smithereens 2016 at Infinity Hall Norfolk CT .. They played House we used to live in that transitions into an Instrumental called Sparks. Goes right through you, the epidemy of Rock N Roll. I turn as it ends and scream Rock N FUCKIN ROLL BABY ! As my wife and her friend, with hands over their ears yell, It's too loud ! BEST MEMORY EVER !

First concert for me was Ike and Tina Turner in the Motor City. Ikettes we’re an added thrill to a high energy show.
Worked at the Attic nightclub in Greenville, NC through college (ECU)in the late 70’s. Sex, drugs and rock and roll:bananadance:
Last concert was an old favorite-Little Feat.
Prior to that was Joe Bonomassa. If you want to see a guitar shredded, see him.

Too many to list / remember, but some notable ones for me:

Tommy Emmanuel (CGP) in an old church and John Knowles (CGP) came up and did like 5 songs with him. Freaking unbelievable. (Google Certified Guitar Player to understand why I was so stoked).

George Clinton, Darkstar orchestra, Bela Fleck, widespread, Bruce Hornsby, KC & Sunshine band opening for the village people (seriously), Robert Randolph & the family band, Derek Trucks, John Mayer (right before his debut album released), less than Jake (lots of fun), gwar, on & on..
