The old girl, took it off my old man when he switched shops to one that provides all tools. Drawers don't stay closed on slopes so she's always on shims. The tools inside are what matters though right!

Here’s my baby. One of my best friends gave it to me with a few older stickers on it from his apprenticeship years. It’s tiny, but bursting with love haha. I’ve had it now for a few years and have added a million more stickers, including my j-man sticker :p

The Day I got it and "hauling" it home the guy who had it he was forced to sell it for what he owed or it was going to get taken. I didn't know the full story until after I made the deal to purchase it So I gave him a good "Tip" for helping load it up. The Second picture is what it looks like now I sold the Hutch and Stainless Steel top.DSC00472.jpg IMG_0091.jpg

Maybe he has family that drives Gm products?

I'm digging that kzew sticker on the bottom of your craftsman box. I remember the ones with the elephant logo when I was younger.

The oldest radio bumper sticker I have is 94.5 The Edge.

I had several of those EDGE stickers but ended up using them over the years.
I miss the Edge although XM radios (AltNation and Lithium) took their place.
I mostly miss Edgefest, my kids and I went to every show for several years....

I cant remember if it was edge fest or not, but I went to one around '96 or '97 that had Bush, No Doubt and several others at Texas Motorspeedway (I think, little fuzzy now). Best I remember it was an awesome show.

Reviving this old thread for some opinions...

Toying with the idea of getting another tool box and cleaning up the garage this month which is in need of some help. We have a 2 car garage and haven't parked a car in it for almost 3 years now. I've got a smaller 5'x10' trailer parked in the middle which is packed full of everything that has no place for it currently. I have a Craftsman tool box 36" wide with the middle and top stacks and then a Craftsman roller cart which is about 36" wide also (both are ~20 years old, but great shape). I feel like I have so many tools that need to be stored and just no place to put them all. I was looking at the Harbor Freight US General tool boxes which do seem to be built pretty nice especially for the price point. Going through this thread I only saw one person that is rocking the US General box.

Any thoughts or opinions of them? I know they are not name brand, but honestly I'm just looking for something that is durable for home use with lots of storage space. I've watched a few youtube videos and the consensus seems to be that they are better than say a Husky or Kobalt box, but not near the quality of the upper end brands.

The plan - I've got a 5ft craftsman workbench that I keep a lot of cordless tools on along with the chargers which is nice to have that flat area for this. I was thinking of ditching the workbench and going with the 72" wide US General tool box and then either doing the 72" upper box or the smaller 54" upper chest so that I'd still have a small flat area to hold my chargers, etc. Depending upon how much I can store away in the new box I could then possible get rid of the older craftmans box or roller.

Here are the options I was looking at.

A few years. Love it. If I had the room id have gotten the wider 72” one or whatever but this was the only spot in the shop with the wall space.

Good to hear . I'm most likely sold on going this route (US General) unless I hear poor feedback. Just not decided on the upper box (54" vs 72") at this point.
