Finally had time to install it...very straight forward. I was originally going to try to install it without removing the entire bumper but the screws for the bracket used a specific bit, forgot which...more on these screws in just a second

Everything mounted up great and the light bar is very bright! I bought the Combo White but wanted to look a little more stealth with it off so I tinted the light bar.

So the screws for the brackets....I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong but it did not work out for me. 3 out of the 4, did not feel like it "locked" in. Where I can let go of the bracket and it would just fall out so I had to scramble to find something that would fit...luckily I have a stash of some screws/bolts and was also able to utilize some that weren't used that came with the light bar

Looks great. I am hoping to do that soon.

How did the wiring work out and the switch to turn the lightbar on and off?

Wiring is just like wiring up any other light. I already have a switch ready so I just wired it up to that :)

Which switch did you use? I like that lightbar switch that plugs in which the other switches on the left hand lower dash.

I have a Trigger 4 switch so I control it from my phone or the remote they give me

No I didn't but they price matched it for me :)

I'm not sure if they will still do it since that sale was over but worth a try?

I put the trigger module on top of the battery cover. I just used the tape that they gave me.

How flimsy does the grill feel with the lightbar installed? Some other companies are strengthening the bracket designs to provide additional support. I have a DD kit on order and worried about grille cracking.

I'm in the same boat. Almost went baja designs but opted for diode on black friday. Hearing the reports of cracking grilles is a little uneasy

If I remember, they reported no issues or anything about the cracking grill but let's get @Diode Dynamics input?

Back to the top - has anyone using this light had their grill crack?

I ended up modifying the DD bracket with 2 additional supports...Similar to the Westcott Bracket. Less flexing, no cracks on mine so far but can't comment without the modification. I wasn't too happy with the amount of movement without the supports. Unfortunately I didn't take pics before I got it back on which I'm kicking myself for.

I've been thinking about making brackets as well. The light literally bounces light all over the place. DD stated they provided better screws to alleviate the issue, but that has no impact on the weight of the bar causing it shake/bounce.

Baja has two brackets on theirs both go up. Westcott has two also, one up and one down. Both are for 20” lights.

Like the price point of the DD but don’t want to mess around fabing stout enough brackets that fit with everything while the grill is removed.

I threw the screws out that came with the kit. Not sure when they upgraded them, but the ones supplied when I bought barely cut a thread. I had some panel screws from a past project that fit better which I used instead. For the bracket I used 2 seperate pieces of flat stock which I bent and then drilled and bolted to the DD bracket. The other ends I bolted to 1 top and 1 bottom grill shutter mount. Then created spacers for the other 4 locations with same flat stock to space the grill shutter away from the grill evenly.

My dd light bar is moving so much it seems like it’s flickering at night. The light bar seems to be attached good but lots of flex in the grill.

I've decided to go with either Baja Designs or Rigid. Thanks for the guidance!

The front end on every new vehicle is very weak. the automotive industry was required to conform to new government requirements.
Vehicle front ends are no longer designed strictly for occupant safety and vehicle survival-bility during a crash.

Here’s the language from the NCAP

“NHTSA plans to propose a crashworthiness pedestrian protection testing program in NCAP in 2022. The pedestrian protection program would incorporate three crashworthiness tests (i.e., head-to-hood, upper leg-to-hood leading edge, and lower leg-to-bumper) discussed in the December 2015 RFC.225A crashworthiness pedestrian protection testing program would measure how well passenger cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles protect pedestrians in the event of a crash.

OEM vehicles are rated on how well they absorb impact, not how durable and rigid they are...

I've run numerous different lights from both companies and it has turned me into a @Baja Designs fan boy. Excellent quality and great product support.
