Definitely tough. My hands are covered in cracks, a few are fairly deep to the point that it’s hard to type or crimp. But that’s not a humidity thing, I think it’s a factor of the cold and maybe excessive hand washing from doing so much dirty work outside, particularly splitting and stacking, and re-stacking the firewood.

Glad it’s finally in a permanent spot away from the house. I have a second small stash under the deck with a tarp on it, there is room for that stuff in the new shed but it seems insane to move it unless we demo the deck. And it’s green so it needs a year or two to season. The back two stacks are the tree we cut down last month, the front is all what was here when we moved in so not sure what’s good and what’s bad. I probably need to buy a moisture reader to know.

Honestly I kind of wish the house had a small spot where you could load wood from the outside and into the heated section of the house for final staging before burning. We have a small rack on the deck right now but when it’s rainy for a week or more that stuff isn’t the best. So I have to make sure to bring it in near the stove and stack the basket every day.

Thanks. I have a strange problem with creme on my hands. But I’ve been forcing myself at night. I just hate the transfer to screens and knobs and stuff. And I do a massive amount of dishwashing, though I could use gloves for that.

I need to suck it up and just get past my mental block for greasy hands.

 

Right there with you. I hate it and avoid lotion like crazy. I only ever use this stuff as medicine. There's an issue that needs solved, I'll use it until it's healed, then I want nothing to do with it. Another thing would be to be less vigorous with your drying. Wash your hand as normal, but only pat dry until not dripping. Let the rest of the water air dry.

 

I really need to get off my ass and install this shit. I've literally had it for like 12, 18 months now. Motivation is a bitch!

@GODZILLA That's an interesting prospective you've got there. "they are not just taking the item, but also stealing (the time exchanged for the item)" I feel this one. And that's why it's a personal violation beyond just the loss of property. I also agree that thieves are the scum of the earth and far under punished by law. I know there are countries that would punish thieves by cutting their hands off. That's a bit extreme, but if the punishment for stealing was to lose even a single finger, I think most thieves would find a new line of work.

@FirstGenVol +1 for installing the minor scratched arms. I get your frustration, but the time, and emailing and all the bullshit... in the end, how much better off will you be than now? It's not a smashed radiator or cracked alternator. It's an LCA with a scratch on it, and will be getting many more scratches on it. The headache of shipping them back and having to wait for another set, that could be worse.... nah. get a black paint pen for $2.50 and bolt them bitches on. That's what I'd be all about anyways

 

My man, you need to get in the habit of wearing gloves. I'm not a fan, but they make a world of difference. Your wife will thank you as well. The cracked hands are an inconvenience to you. To her- she's like "oh no, here comes Mr. sandpaper hands again'....even if she's too kind to say so. I've been that guy, and my girl let me know.

 

I have been. And I’ve bought about 10 pair since moving here. In so cal we didn’t need em as much. But my skin still cracks even with gloves. I have some slices on my feet too.

They were really quick to turnaround and get mine out. This is basically half of what SPC is charging for literally the exact same thing. If you been hunting or even considering ... jump now!

The photo shows gold-anodized balljoints, but the one I received is the same flat grey greaseable, adjustable SPC balljoint you'd expext. It is 100% the same parts I got from SPC several months back, to the letter. Same box, packing, everything, except Eibach printed on outside of box.

Someone needs to make some bed cubby’s for the first gen tundra.. I really want some. But I’m too lazy to make some. Lol… I need a better spot to store my tie downs and shit

Those would be sweet but that’s all integrated into the composite bed of whatever, and that’s exactly what I had in my cubby in my 05

 

they just bolt in. the depth behind the inner bed wall and the outer panel would prevent just cutting the hole into a tundra to mount these though. i really wish someone fabbed something up to make some nice sealed up pockets that youd just cut a hole into the bed and put the boxes in.

 

Do you lack motivation or time? I'm always super motivated to install audio stuff then about half way through I hate it. Always worth it for the end result though.

I'm so impressed you put a gutter on that roof & held back from the fence line. You are a Gentleman with no business in my neighborhood.

Some examples of my neighborhood, taking a mental stroll down to and around the corner.
Next door ran a drain line for all his house & garage gutters, to vacate onto my yard. (Drowned 2 trees, refused to fix, so I 'fixed' the water intrusion)
Other next door built a patio onto my property after I told him where the line was. (Yes, I made him pull it up, I'd advised him before.)
next house, cut down the hedge that belongs to my next door, not them.
next house - no transgressions yet, but they're brand new
next house - let huge limbs from dead tree fall on neighbors driveway for years, finally cut it down but directed tree crew to enter from neighbors driveway without permission (didn't want to risk heavy trucks cracking his driveway).
Next door built a chicken coop as far from his house as possible, on (over) the property line, right next to his neighbor's sun porch. Let's his chickens free range on that neighbors yard when the owner is at work.
Etc, etc, etc.

I love where I live, but dang it's every man for himself around here. Nice to see you bothered with that gutter.

I know I'm supposed to see a pastry sticker, but all I see is the fold in the trunk. Got me to think if you unfolded the trunk lid, cut a hole, inserted the back window into the hole, welded in some D-pillars, a new roof, some tailgate hinges. No quick ideas on side windows - but not too far off from a Corolla wagon.

 

Man your neighbors suck. My only issues with mine is they constantly text me to see if I’m at work and if they can snow blow my driveway for me! Haha

 

I've helped several neighbors dig out during heavy snows, none reciprocated - not that I was expecting it.
Still would be nice if they held themselves to a higher standard.

 

We love those neighbors. Two boys like us just a little bit older. He is a cop and she is a teacher, her parents are two houses away. They also have a boat right there and they have other family nearby with similar aged kids.

They actually have a gate right where the drain pipe is, if I can bury it, they could come grab firewood from the shed. That’s a remaining todo but I doubt they have ever opened it.

oh, and they have a pretty nice boat on the other side of that fence.

Still, the ground slopes back to our property so the drainage is entirely self serving. Wish I could take credit for being neighborly. Mostly I’m a fan of overkill and 8’x10’ of roof with the kind of rain we get seemed worthy of directing the water downhill.

At my buddies last house we built a bartop/gate to interact with the neighbors and his kids had a standing invitation to their pool. They had a standing invitation to the RC track & firepit in his yard.

my neighbors across the street threw parties until they started having kids. One guy is 70, and he can ask me for anything, the other guy isnt ever here. Everyone is older than 50. Nobody heckles when i hot lap the minibike, thats a bonus, but everyone slows and waves when you're walking dogs or whatever. Gonna be a shame when the city moves in.
