I’d add it to my 4x4 if I could use it whenever I wanted.

How can we add a locker or limited slip and who would install?

long story short yes.. though it is definitely not a cheap modification to do.

Id recommend a Detroit Truetrac or Torsen if one becomes available. Then its always “on”, even on the street

I know the Lexus LX600 has an option for one from the factory, but not sure if its the same axle as the Tundra or not

Thanks I will look into those. I passed on TRD OR package because you can only use the locking rear diff in 4L. Prefer a limited slip which is traditionally always on. Waiting for first snow to see how ALSD works if I have it on my 4x4 Ltd. Not sure 4x4s have that feature maybe just 2wd.

Of course you can. Any shop that does gears can do it, you just need to pick which one you want.
