Steel is malleable. It doesn't fatigue without bending back and forth at extreme angles a lot. But it's shitty you paid full price - even if discounted - for a part that was damaged in transit.

 

I agree. I'm not sure what to do. I'll think it over tonight.

 

Side note, if I didn't notice the Florida plates I was convinced this is Noah.

Why not ask for a discount above and beyond what you paid? At a minimum, it should be the return and new shipping costs. That’s like $40, isn’t it?

 

I was thinking about that option too. It can't be cheap to ship items this heavy.

 

If you do keep it though just make sure there aren’t additional defects. I know when I bought those Mevotech arms from RockAuto, I only noticed at installation one of the shock bolt holes was off center making it a bitch to get the shock bolt in the arm. Had to use a 6 foot crowbar to get it done.

 

A 6’ crow bar? That sounds like a digging bar at that length

Did they delete the raffle thread? I saw they were going to start a raffle to benefit that member but now it's gone.

 

I wasn’t sure exactly what it was since it was my father’s. I had used it in my 20s to get the front springs out of my car to replace them. It didn’t have a hook at the end, just a long straight bar an inch thick and tapered at the ends.

 

yea, thats a digging bar. I use mine for lifting rocks that are too heavy for me.

 

That’s cool you still have some of pops tools still around. I’ve got a old snap on torque wrench that I’m pretty sure was my grandfathers, I use it as my go to anytime I’m working on the vehicles

 

All the ones I’ve used always seem to be an octagon or maybe hexagonal shaped, I assume for better grip

 

Huh, I guess I thought it was a pry bar of some sort. It was certainly treated as one.

 

Hexagon shaft, 1"x1"x14" square wedge on the end. Just got a spare from a garage sale a couple weeks ago in case i bend mine.

probably 30-40 lbs. i know i can only throw it about 20 ft.

 

What’s the problem? It’s good to carry two spares.

 

Well, you could possibly add some triangle pieces of steel to them for extra strength to either side of them with a welder if you're that worried about it. It's really up to you. I say "Shit happens" and run it.

My opinion is below. Do with it what you will.

In today's hustle, and bustle world, its unrealistic to expect every package to be delivered every time without damage. The "movers" like FedUps, UPS, and the USPS move so many packages to so many different places. It's insane. Your arms are heavy, and I'm sure the box was a bit unwieldy as that's how my arms from Napa were. Most guys/gals getting their shit handed to them by the holiday rush of packages at the "movers" can only do so much. I'm sure there's little care in it anymore, and that big, unwieldly box got tossed about quite a bit. Could Serra dudes, especially Eric, have put a little foam block on those two pieces of steel to help out? Absolutely, but they didn't. We're not even sure if that's Eric's responsibility. He's just your point of contact unfortunately. As douche-y as he may seem.

It is what it is, at this point Erik. I'm not trying to get you riled up, pissed off at Serra, or the "movers." I'm just trying to help you see that you're possibly over thinking things, and that it's gonna be okey.

 

I smushed both your posts into one quote @Sunnier. Well, hell yeah! I think I will. The fabric on mine lasted until the frame collapsed from water weight from the rain. I think this new, and improved double opening tent will be a long term winner for me. The other one was 2(?) years old when it went?

Other than a 300zx I don’t think there’s another Nissan out there I’d have interest in owning myself.

I joined a Nissan forum when I had a Frontier. Was a good little pickup. Just needed a bigger truck so I traded it in for my F150. One of the first things I do when I acquire a new vehicle is seek out the forums for info and tips. Forums are the best.

 

compression test & deep clean on the naughty bits to help trace any leaks. Bypass the trans circuit in the rad & see if water comes out the ports.

 

Meh the Altima I've got is like an appliance. It's a nice commuter but other than a phone mount and dash cam it's just getting scheduled maintenance.

Mostly the price was right.
