What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I finally got my roof rack/wind fairing done. I still need to wire the lights but I think it turned out good. It may not hold much but it makes the camper and roof look better together without the huge air gap underneath the camper. I may end up throwing some traction boards or something up there. I missed having a set of boards on our last snow run.

Swapped the front OEM mats for Husky Liners. Install was pretty DIY friendly

Don’t mind the mud, I do the best I can but it’s that time of year and this baby sees a lot of action. And it’s VT, the nearest car wash is an hour away and there’s no pavement for miles.

I will say I was pretty impressed with the originals, decent for OEM mats!

Cleaned the cab up quick! Maybe I just need to order a new set every month.

Replaced my brand new JBA UCA's (with only about 1,250 miles on them, explanation on why I replaced https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...5-gen-tundra-today.713/page-2610#post-3000569) with SPC UCA's, installed ARK splash guards (thicker than stock, one piece design, installing the passenger side without pulling down my fender well liner was a beyatch with my fat digits), bought and hung some shawty traction boards on both sides of the bed (a total of four of them), replaced all bed rail hardware with stainless security bolts and washers and aluminum t-nuts.

 

Man I like the coverage on these better than the oem rubber ones. Guess I'll add it to the never ending list.

Meant to post this a week or so ago, but got my plow (DK2 T-Frame) mounted up and ready for the snow. Hoping that this purchase is a waste of money and it never ever snows

 

I lived in Boston for school and the snow plow dudes had attitude. You subscribed to their service and if if snowed they would plow your drive at like 0400.

Installed bed step and bed rails.

Gotta order some extra cleats for the rails (set came with four). Maybe simply some loops with T-nuts, maybe at each end to keep the pricey cleats from growing legs and walking away.

Will do, it'll be a while until I get to the thread, but basically, for my truck (others mileage may vary, not all trucks are created equal...), once the built-in high caster from the JBA's was introduced to my set-up, several alignment shops could not get the camber right. Always negative camber, eccentrics maxed out. Starting wearing the the insides of my new Recon Graps; chewed the shit out of them on a recent trip to Kentucky. Had caster for days and the toe was good, but that camber just couldn't get fixed. Switched to SPC UCA's and now my alignment is right as rain (knock on wood). Trying to decide whether to list the JBA's for sale here, or just send them back to JBA since they have an unconditional moneyback guarantee (GREAT company that stands behind their product ).

I love the Husky's. I've had mine for almost 4 years and they still look new when you clean em up!

 

Especially in the winter it's nice that the rubber lip goes over the door sill. I don't know how many vehicles I've had get salt stains between the rubber mat and sill of the door.

 

The doorsill coverage is exactly right

 

I snagged them for 75 bucks shipped to the door via Amazon on Blk Fri - that is hard to beat!! Way cheaper and better coverage than Weathertech for this application. I think I might go with WT full coverage for the rear though, TBD.

Hate to hear that. They have been at the top of my list. I’m focused on zeroing out all the maintenance on my LX570 at the moment, so I’m not in a hurry to buy them.

Everything about the JBAs was great for my 4runner. I’ll be interested to hear what they have to say if you take advantage of the guarantee and send them back.

 

Are the weather beater real flexible? Man that’s a great price.

 

This is my first try at the Husky's. I've always put Weathertechs in our vehicles before. I just popped my head in the Tundra and then our V60CC with Weathertechs for a quick comparison.

My first impression is that the Husky's are both thicker and more pliable than the WTs. Definitely seem durable for the long haul, while WT's have gotten thinner, cheaper, and harder over the years, actually. I'm very impressed!

That's one of the reasons I commented that they're a great company...I've prepped them for this letting them know I'd get back with them if I saw bad tire wear due to the negative camber, and they responded that if I did, I could start the return process. I hate this, but like I said, everyone's truck is different, and while their UCA's might work for most Tundras, they might not for all. It's been a journey and so freakin' weird...it's not like I have a unicorn set-up...TRD Pro Fox shocks with the Coachbuilder TRD Pro lift kit. CB says you don't even need aftermarket UCA's for their set-up, but after a week, I found the Tundra wandering due to lack of caster from the OEM UCA's. So I saw the JBA's were popular (and I LOVE the red ), and gave them a shot. My caster went from 2.2 to almost 4, but three different shops could not adjust the eccentrics enough to get nowhere near zero or positive camber, let alone a "small enough" negative camber to not affect tire wear.

 

Also have the Husky's, and would definitely recommend over WT's. WT's still good, but love the Husky's.

I can attest to this comment and Husky’s themselves. I had them in my 2012 CM Plat.. sold it and went back into a Tacoma.. took the mats out and planned on selling them. Never sold. They sat outside behind my relative’s shed for about 2 years. Rain, snow, freezing temps, sun, mud.. Anyway recently got back into a tundra, located them, cleaned them up good (hose, brush, plastic/rubber cleaner, etc) and they look brand new, like the day I got them!
