No, punishment will be some time after she heals. Women probably invented the old Italian proverb: "Revenge is a dish served cold by those who know."

    Dog food prices :mad::mad::mad:

The brand I use (Royal Canin) is not cheap to begin with, but good God; every year it's a 15-20% hike on the product. It wasn't like this until they bought Eukanuba and merged operations. In addition to prices going up, they've been killing off some their product staples for the last few years, or it would be back ordered for months.

I'm part of their PFP (professional feeding program), so I don't pay retail store prices and the food just gets shipped directly to me (positive); also, I've never dealt w/a known quality issue or recall from their product (huge positive)...

But, as an example of their price jumps. I get an email on the 20th that says prices will be increasing to the new attached schedule starting on the 22nd (same month). Any orders not received on or after the 22nd will be processed at new price points. So, I open the new pricing excepting to see it jump a few $$ a bag and :smack:, right in the face!!!! Huge increases on some products...

For example, their 30lb bag of Lab Formula, which I used for more than a decade, is now going to be priced at almost $85/bag PFP (which means retail is probably exceeding $100/bad).... This is an increase of over $10/bag for that particular product. Egads!!!!

If it wasn't for the above mentioned 'positives', I'd be out!!!!

I was amazed when I went to Market Basket this past week and the cereal boxes have shrunk yet again to about 1.5 inches thick at $2.99/ea. The 'family size' is about the same size as the original boxes were 3 years ago. I'm glad I hardly eat cereal anymore.

Yeah, my dog has been on Science Diet for weight and joint care since she blew out her knee years back. $80-$100 per 24 pound bag. I'm so glad she's a little pug that only eats a cup a day. That kind of cost on a large breed would definitely be a bigger budget concern.

I'm sitting at a combined weight of well over 300lbs for this pack, so I'm running almost 20cups/day of food

Not complaining about caring for them or giving them the best, but that line item on my budget has been going up faster than any of the others

Oh great. More growth and progress on a single 4 lane interstate right next to the new Volvo plant.

No shit. Houston is absorbing the little country town I used to live in. Sea of subdivisions all around, and currently another apartment complex and grocery going in across the street. At least you have a 4 lane interstate, we still have a narrow 2 lane county road that can't handle the added traffic we already have. Probably be a year or two after this other shit opens before they even think about upgrading the road.

Used to be a nice little town, but I fucking hate it here now. Trying to plan our escape, it can't come soon enough!

This is why I'm happy to be out in the county, an hour plus away from even "small" cities. Even growth and expansion won't reach me in this century.

Having watched the grow of the Greenville County area since BMW moved into Greer three decades ago, you're never going to be able to build the roads, schools, homes fast enough to cope. 85 is decade into rebuilding and when its done, it wont help.

To clarify, I'm out in the county. It wasnt a spelling error. That means we'll outside any town or neighborhood. Not just "in the country" which is usually barely outside the suburbs. If it doesn't take over an hour at 70+ MPH to reach the conveniences of a city, then you're in range of expansion absorbing you.

I've been here for over 30 years and the stupidity of cities is no closer now than it was then.

That I can’t change the delivery date or location to my Amazon Prime order. Prime membership? Get it delivered next Sunday. Standard shipping? Get it delivered next Sunday. Change to Amazon Locker delivery? No can do.

Two day shipping? What’s that? No can do.

I should have said two lane as in two east and two west. Charleston has one dead end interstate coming into it, that’s it. So what use to be all trees and another 20 minutes to Charleston suburbs is now factory's and large trucking warehouse’s because of the increased port traffic from overseas. They will redo the exits all fancy be still no where else to go but one single interstate. Don’t get me started with all the new subdivisions and HUGE apartment complex’s every fucking where.

    Small town politics.

Moved to where we live in 2008, right outside a small town in central Missouri. Ever since I've lived here, I've watched the same people in the same town talk sh*t about each other and virtually run the town into the ground, to the point where in about 2017 or so there was talk of the town essentially being dissolved.

You would think people would get an idea and vote in different people, but nope. LOL

I actually saw a Twitter thread on this a while back.

Some guy posted "When we go out to eat, I say to my wife 'Guess where we're going for dinner tonight?!' and then we go the first place my wife mentions."

The very first response from a lady: "Holy sh*t, girls, he cracked the code we didn't even know we had."

This reminds me of another one:

Douchebag bikers (of the motorcycle flavor). I can't tell you how many people will draft me, maybe 2' off my bumper for MILES, and then blow past me in the passing lane - and this is when I'm doing 65MPH or so in a 55MPH. They'll then rinse and repeat.

Yes, I'm aware not all bikers do this; maybe it's the fact that I live a) right outside an Army post and b) in an area where there are a *LOT* of bikers and congregation areas for them (Lake of the Ozarks is a hotspot, I hear). But it doesn't change the fact that there are quite a lot of flat out idiots on motorcycles. The ones I know who do this sh*t are the VERY same ones who talk sh*t about douchebag vehicle drivers. LOL

I actually don't mind them. Though I do have to say it was funny as hell to watch people figure out how to navigate the ones in Rolla when they were built several years ago. LOL
