100% 93 octane. I'm not sure how and that tech is now gone.

Here's how to reset it, Im guessing you could start there for figuring for to disable it. https://www.tundratalk.net/threads/how-to-reset-your-ethanol-reading-with-techstream.336482/
Not sure where you are but here in New England the octane doesn't matter, everything has 10%. Also running 93 is just burning money on a vehicle tuned for 87 but if it makes you happy, I get it, I buy name brand oil when i could use Kirkland.

In some places premium is ethanol free. I would buy it too if I could ethanol free.

I buy 100% and high octane because my tuck sits for long times and I do get more MPG's with it. Don't care what anybody says otherwise. I get 1.5 more with 100%93 than 10%87. I know I pay more for it my choice just like a Tundra over a Prius.

Why not buy a bottle of octane booster for each time you fill up? It's probably way cheaper than paying for premium if more octane is all you need. Premium gas has a lot of additional cleaners in it that remove carbon buildup. When it's built up enough, it can affect your compression ratio and cause detonation, which the higher octane rating of premium gas retards a bit. That could be why you see better mileage on premium. The 5.7 is only 10.2:1 compression, that's not really high enough to need more than regular pump gas in a modern port injected engine.

Maybe some injector cleaner/fuel additive is what you need. I put some in my escape when it was around 210K miles, I was getting 17-18mpg out of it. Fuel cleaner alone brought it back to 21mpg on the same gas. I think that was dirty fuel injectors, but it could help you as well if you have carbon buildup.

don't drive it much still have not broken 20k. I run 100% in my bike, lawnmower, chainsaw and everything else I own. If I'm going on a trip where I'm using up the gas sure cheap gas for sure but sitting around 100%.

Anyone able to link to the TechStream they bought from Amazon that worked. When I search, there's all sorts of weird stuff that pulls up. Not sure what's legit.

Since its not actually legit Amazon routinely takes them down so you kind of need to gauge by the reviews and sell response since they will need to email you the key once you have it set up on your laptop. This was the one I ordered, no longer available but have used it for programming keys, changing convenience features, and bleeding the brakes, no issues.

If by 100% you are referring to ethanol free then the MPG gain is from no ethanol and not octane. They don't sell ethanol free in 93 around here only 87. When I had a Mercury outboard with milled heads I had to add octane booster when I ran ethanol free.

I think that it's well established that corn isn't good for your truck, in more ways than one.

After some trials and tribulations with the CD/Plug I bought from Amazon, I was finally able to get my ethanol calc relearned. Truck seems to be running much better. I opted to buy the 2 day subscription from TechStream for $65 vs loading the version 12 that came on the CD. I had to get the company to remote in and install the driver for the plug which eventually worked on the version 17.something version of TechStream. For what it's worth, Windows 11 actually supported the 64 bit version. I dedicated a cheap laptop to it since the "remote in" thing the manufacturer of the plug needed to do to install the plug driver made me very uneasy. I wouldn't suggest using your personal laptop with real, personal NPI for this one.

TIS and TechStream provided a lot of useful information on the truck that I didn't see anywhere else in any of my paperwork. Turns out, it had a remote starter which functions with my key fob.

The one I bought from also offered the remote option but if you are tech savvy you can definitely do it all yourself.

Techstream is Toyotas software for OBD. You need a VCI cable and a computer. I purchased mine on Amazon, every copy you find will be a bootleg but just make sure the seller is reputable since they will be the one that needs to provide you the key to activate the software. Not all the cables are created equal either. Something like this Toyota Techstream Diagnostic Cable Mini VCI J2534 OBD Scanner V2.0.4 for Toyota Lexus TIS Techstream (Updated Version) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BCL3DFR
