Here - FINALLY! Ordered 03/14, arrived 11/12. Dealer couldn't get my 1st choice WCP exterior so had to go with my 2nd choice - MGM.
1794 with Advanced Package, spray in bed-liner, power running boards, PPF hood and doors, tinted driver and passenger windows. Paid MSRP and feel good about the outcome given the dealer came through on their commitment that included my 2016 Tundra Limited trade-in. :101010:

I just got a call from the dealership that I bought my truck from (Southern Ontario region). The original one I had ordered is on the lot and is waiting for a buyer.

It is a Limited long box in Blueprint.

If you are interested please contact me and I will pass along dealership contact info.

Platinum Hybrid 4x4 5.5 ft bed in Blueprint

I previously reviewed a 1794 that I rented back in May:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/rented-a-22-1794-non-hybrid-for-three-days-my-impressions.106752/
Differences between my truck and the 1794 I rented earlier: Platinum vs 1794. Hybrid vs Non-hybrid, and 5.5-ft bed versus 6.5-ft bed.

I can tell the difference between the 6.5 and 5.5 foot bed. Turning circle feels a little tighter. Parking lot maneuverability seems easier. Could just be in my head, but I'm convinced it's better (for me).

The Hybrid Drivetrain is definitely nicer than the gas version. No lag when accelerating, at all. Power for days. The engine shuts off often, mostly at low speeds, very smooth, no indication other than 0 rpm on tachometer.

Fuel economy: 18 mpg around town, 23.9 mpg on the highway, which is a little better than the gas 1794 I drove on the same roads. I'm very light on the throttle, babying it while it breaks in.
This is better than the V6 4Runner I traded for it, so call me impressed. More capability and a little better fuel economy is a big win in my opinion.

Air Suspension was properly adjusted when I picked it up, and I don't feel the bump stops like during the drive of the 1794. The ride is smoother over bumpy roads than the other Tundra. Having the height properly adjusted makes a noticeable difference.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/leveling-22-platinum-with-avs-air.99893/#post-2594102
TSB-0070-22 fixes the Air Suspension height.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/2022-1794-with-air-suspension.112786/#post-2913247

No rattles except for a low frequency rattle from the driver's door when playing music at high volume. I compensated by adjusting the fader to the rear one notch, and lowering the bass one notch. Sounds decent now.
I’m going to investigate having foam pads installed:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/passenger-front-door-rattle.108757/page-2#post-2917212

The AC fan has a loud whistle from the top vents only. The only major con in my opinion. Noise like that bugs me.

Only the driver side-view mirror auto-dims at night. The passenger side-view does not dim. Not a big deal for me.

PVM is awesome. Backup camera guidelines are fairly accurate and very handy when backing into a parking space or my driveway.

My Tundra does not have the spray-on bed-liner and I think it's way, way better that way. Easier to clean and easier to get things in and out of the bed. I got lucky with that.

In my opinion the Platinum one of the better looking trims (next to the Capstone and TRD Pro), and Blueprint is the best color for the Platinum. The black accents blend nicely with the deep dark blue. So far I'm very happy with it.

This seems odd to me, as Hybrid's are supposed to boost the city performance, not the highway performance on MPGs????

This is true. Three possible reasons: 1) This Tundra is broken in with about 1000 miles on the odometer. The 1794 had about 300 on it when I tested it. 2) I was going a little slower, with my average speed being about 55 mph, and if I remember correctly in the 1794 the average was closer to 60 or 65. 3) I was being gentle on my own truck, but driving the 1794 like I rented it. Which I was.

I'm thinking it was #2 that had the greatest impact.

Tim was able to get about 24 MPG out of a non-hybrid.

I'm thinking if I take it more normal, staying near 65 mph or less that I'll see higher mpg's. I've driven my Gen2 for 1,000 mile runs similarly, and was lucky to get 12-13, towing, I'd get 8-11 at those speeds(which I wouldn't recommend after learning trailer tires don't do well over 65 mph with heavy loads on them.) I haven't towed yet with my 1794 as you're not supposed to before 1,000 miles if I recall correctly. And, I haven't the need to tow yet either, with all the debris in the water still from Hurricane Ian here, they're recommending holding off until the boating channels /canals are cleared of all the cars and housing materials blown in there from Ian. (I live 1 mile from MatLache...)

That looks like mine only in MGM!

I thought the moustache was colour matched with the SR5 trim. I am looking at painting mine black

Vzmotion - Great write-up, thank you! Clarifying question and comment. Are you saying that the AV suspension had to be properly adjusted by the dealer or has Toyota made the adjustment during manufacturing process? FWIW, I also have that A/C fan whistle from middle driver side vent.

Since there is a Toyota Service Bulletin on the problem, I am assuming they fixed it during manufacturing, but I can’t be sure. It’s possible they fixed it during the work that happens at the “port” or even at the dealer during pre-delivery, but I doubt the dealer did it since the truck’s arrival at the dealership was a surprise, and I picked it up the next morning. I checked the suspension within the first five minutes of arriving at the dealership and it was properly adjusted then, which was a big relief.

One of the other things done on that TSB is adjust the auto leveling headlights, and the headlight level is perfect on my truck. This makes me lean toward the AVS being fixed during manufacturing.

Yep, the middle driver’s vent whistles away when it’s warm out. At least I won’t notice it six months out of the year.

Had to literally drive across Florida to score a ‘22 Limited TRD Off-Road in Lunar Rock that only had 3.5K miles on it from a dealership but thankfully my highly modified ‘17 Tacoma Off-Road was maintained real good, paid off and held that awesome Toyota value…more so in this weird, stock deprived market.

Started the chrome delete process and looking to get a 3”/1” lift and 35”s ASAP…have read that 35”s prob won’t fit the OEM 20” rims per rubbing/offset issues? Would appreciate any input on fitting bigger tires on the stock 20” rims w/ and w/ out a lift or leveling kit.

Had a Prinsu rack w/ Wraith light bar on my ‘17 Taco so will looking to score a new one and install after Xmas…read the drilling process on 3rd gen Tundras is def’ more difficult due to lack of dedicated rack drill holes? Please hook a brother up with any experience with Prinsu instal on these new bad ass Tundras!

Lastly can’t wait to see what K&N comes up with for the new duel intake/turbo system…wondering if an intake would be detrimental at all to a turbo system? Motto so far with all my off road ‘Yotas has been “let ‘er breathe!”

Many thanks in advance for any/all input/response/details and stoked to learn everything possible about this new beast!

Have you done mods to it or did it already come the way it is in the pictures?

The door handles are matte black like the trd pro’s and blacked out badges. Beautiful truck!

Thanks man and likewise! I sure do wish I had the I-Force Hybrid engine like yours…never had the op’ to test drive anything but the standard engine models but heard they are smoother per gear shift, on and off when stopping at a light is pretty much unnoticeable and of course totally haul ass w/ the extra hp/torque. Is all that accurate with your I-Force?

I might just have to trade in for a pro when there are more available and the market values/adjustments normalize some.

The badge covers are all from one standard OEM kit I scored from my dealer…opted to not cover the main logo on the grille…looking for a heritage pro grille soon anyhow as you can already get a killer aftermarket LED bar for the grille slot below the logo that smokes the pro OEM version.

Door handles are $45 covers that perfectly match the OEM covers and work quite well IMHO. Super quick/easy install. Look/feel sorta flimsy until they are installed but mine locked in solid. Here’s a link:

I live about an hour and a half east of them. Coincidentally have a WCP 1794 reserved with them now, due in January, and my current '18 Tacoma Pro was bought there.

It's here! Waited two months and it arrived early! '23 SR5 TRD Sport Premium Package and some other extras. This one replaces my '19 TRD Pro. I'll replace the stereo in the next few months & upload the install pics. A bed cover & the TRD 3" lift, and she'll be done. Overall I'm thrilled, I think Toyota hit it out of the park with the new Tundras. :woot:
