I want to level my 2021 platinum out and have a couple of questions.

1-(front suspension)will stock springs with the 5100s set on top notch for the full 2.3 front lift give me any issues with longevity or durability of the OEM spring and 5100 ?(no harsh off-road driving)

2-(rear suspension) bilstein 5100 +1” rear shock. With this being advertised as a +1” of rear lift shock, does this mean I will not need to add a lift block/leaf or shackle to the rear?

3-I am thinking of going with the 20x8.5 black rhino rapid +10mm offset wheel with a 295 60R20 fallen wild peak. Will I have any issues up front with the upper control arm ?

    Thank you.

    1) i personally didn't enjoy the ride of 5100's somewhere in the middle and felt the stock spring was not the answer. 6112's come with a coil rated for the application and ride considerably better at an even higher setting.
    2) The +1 is just referring to the shocks ability to stretch an additional inch resulting in the ability to droop the wheels 1" further than the stock shock. It does not lift the truck in any way.
    3) I can't say for sure if the wheels will cause you grief but take just your wheel question to the tire and wheel section and you'll likely have better results.

I’ll take a better look at the 6112s then.

What exactly was the issue with the 5100s? Too harsh on the road?

I had the Boss kit from Toytec on my 2018 and thought it rode great, I’m just not looking to spend that much on suspension this time around.

You would still need to lift the rear if you wanted it higher, shackes or RAS would be my recommendation. RAS if you do any towing or hauling as it helps support the weak factory leafs.

You will not have an issue with UCA but those rims are going to stick out and you may have some trimming of plastics to fit, probably remove air flap and mud flap and may need other tweaks. For reference, stock offset is +60. Sweet spot for tire fitment (larger tires) is generally +18 to +35 offsets. Even with the stock +60 wheels, you can get a 11ish wide tire in there, up to 35 (285/75-18 for example) with some lift and no issue hitting UCA.

the difference is the Toytech kits include the properly rated spring for the job whereas 5100's are preloading the OEM spring that is meant to have full stroke to perform comfortably. Yes 5100's are budget friendly but knowing what i know now i'm done with them as an option to lift the front end as they're only marginally better than a spacer lift.
I thought of it this way, you've already spent a significant amount of money on a nice truck only to go cheap on lifting it and end up with a diminished ride?
I personally would either wait and save up or save yourself labour costs by installing yourself and putting the money into better parts. Coilover replacement when bought complete is not a difficult install.

I think I am going to go with a 6112 up front.

do you think 5100s are fine for the rear or should I go 5160

i had the same question 3 years ago when i replaced mine and basically 5160's are just 5100's with a remote reservoir. If you find yourself driving 95% on road and occasionally a little fun ride on the bumpy stuff 5100's are completely fine. If you're spending a considerably amount of time wheeling your rig then you probably aren't asking about 5160's to begin with as better options exist.
Save the extra money and just go 5100's.

Do you guys recommend the front differential drop kit?

I have heard mixed opinions on needing it for only 2-3 inches of front lift.

Whatever you do, make sure you compensate/extend appropriately on the bump stops so you are not compromising your springs or front shocks if/when the system is fully compressed. You want to hit the stop before anything goes bad.

You should not need a diff drop for up to 2.5 lift, you may need carrier bearing drop for any lift in the rear. I needed one for just an inch of lift out back. Carrier bearing drop will eliminate take off vibration when lifting the rear of the truck

good to know. I had 1.5 in the rear of my last one and never experienced any vibration when taking off.

    I went with 6112s and 5160s.

Along with an OME shim kit.

Maybe you never put it in full droop or just got lucky. Not sure though, it might have enough slack from the factory. Just trying to save your skin from a potential issue.
