When I go for my first service I plan to ask them to alter the lane change signal amount from 3 to 5.

My question is, should I expect to pay to have this done? Or is this something very easily done that they should not charge me for?

    Forgive my ignorance

    I like the 3.

I feel anything more wouldn’t fit what I’m used to

My only issue with the three is that I like to let my signal blink once or twice before actually moving over. I find if I don't change lanes fast enough the truck tries to correct me because the LTA has reactivated due to my signal being over.

I changed mine to five blinks and got rid of the fake V8 sound with the Carista module .

That's where this is kind of going, if they are going to charge me I will go that route. But if they will do it complimentary during my oil change I will let them do it

Should the dealer charge? Definitely. I think most dealers treat this kind of service as a courtesy to customers and keeps people coming back.

This is a safety thing and maybe regulation now. Chrysler had a big recall for this after Anton Yelchin was killed when his Jeep rolled into him. I believe many manufacturers are implementing some type of anti-roll away measure.

I'm thinking of going carista way. Asked service advisor if they can remove the fake engine sound and he said they can't do that

My dealer turned off the fake V8 noise for free. Only question asked were "why would I want it off? And it sounds soo awesome" -20 something YO tech at the dealership

Changing your blinker setting is right in the user settings in the vehicle...you don't need anything special, this can be adjusted from the user on the 13" screen they give you to do so.....

    Unfortunately, no.

I hate this "safety feature" as I used to open my door while backing up with boat in the driveway to see how close I am to the curb, etc. While all the cams on the truck are nice, it's not the same...especially in the middle of the night.
Surprised the hell of out me the 1st time it did it; I thought I hit a wall or something when it came to a screeching halt once I opened the door. I'm still angry at this!

depends on the dealer. technically they have to have a tech spend time to make the changes instead of working on a paying customer having actual work.

do you expect a plumber or hvac person to come out to change your thermostat setting for free,

    just an example

I went through all options before paying for truck… no charge. Was a very clear part of deal. Would not mind paying for 20 min of shop time to run through options with a tech if not part of a purchase
