    Define "under seat".

I believe @robabeatle and a few others are running the Q-logic under-rear-seat enclosure. I have mine installed but subs pending install (time/laziness constraints).

If you mean under-driver/under-passenger seat, I've seen people mention it but can't think of names to name.

Saw this on there last night before crashing out, nightly pre-snooze reading.

Obviously buckle assembly on the 2nd, I had to look up the first part b/c I was so damn curious what it was. It's a hole plug. Guess commas are expensive, they couldn't write it "Plug, Hole"

Oh and the 8" Kicker Hideaway mentioned toward the end of that post appears to be on sale at $239 at Crutchfield and scAmazon today, looks to be around the same dimensions.

Fair enough. If it's soupy already tho, just keep in mind that unless you wet-set the blocks in a bed of concrete, they aren't going to stay put for you very well. Nor level. Especially loaded with 5-10k #'s. Or; you could just pour a small slab. If you don't know how to finish concrete yet, it's the perfect setting to learn on

One of my buddies bought one of these 8" Kicker Hideaway, and before he installed it, he let me install it in my truck to check fitment and hear the sound, as I was considering buying one as well. (he first bought a crapazon one similar that was glitchy out of the box, and instead of replacing it, he dropped another hundo to make it a kicker) I had an 800w amp under my pass. seat. Pulled the amp out, and put the 8" Kicker Hideaway in it's place, and I was able to do so without removing the seat, which is what I was worried about. Had all the wiring from the amp there so it was simple to connect, and of course it has it's own internal amp. Sounded great, well matched for the cab size, and sound is fully adjustable as well. Impressive sound for it's size for sure

Yeah, I’m already at like $1000 unplanned for this stupid wood shed. I wanted a $500 version.

I do want to pour a big slab for the shop if I can get going on that. But that will be closer to the house.

Don’t need it super level. Anything is better than a tarped pile.

Slab is way out of the question unless or until I put a real storage shed in, just don’t want to drop $10k on that vs a real shop space at 100k ballpark.

I had to drop off the cousins for preschool this morning so I’ll do two trips and play it safe since the Taco definitely can’t handle 50 blocks.

The wife was against sand/gravel here. The desire is to retain an easy path to revert to stock in the future. We might abandon the wood stove when we get to remodeling that space.

24 cinder blocks per trip times two trips. Hopefully done this afternoon. First load right now.

That's also a little bit closer to what Toyota uses on their JBL OEM systems. I think you'll probably get a little bit more punch out of the Kicker, if that's what you're hunting, but you'll get better mid-bass and natural sound out of the JBL. And you'll have better control/power from your existing amp going with the unpowered JBL. Easier/cleaner wiring, too, no need to run that 2nd amp drop.

Don't get me wrong, JBL subs will definitely kick you in your ass, but they're not designed for long-term excursion you'd find with classic generated-bass music, bass discs, etc. Not sure if it's a factor for you or not. The stuff they make for clubs uses a different vc and suspension design, I'm not sure if they ever applied that to the car world.

I don’t have wood with that kind of weight, but wood racks I’ve made I usually floor with 3/4” plywood, ties it all together and spreads the weight. More than once I’ve just made 4’x8’ racks since that works with standard dimension materials with little waste.
I’d use probably like 9 blocks total for that size rack, corners and middles.
Might be a bit late to help you this time, but next time.
Does your power go out much in the winter? If so, don’t ditch the wood heat.

Yeah, I wanted a 4 post since leveling blocks is a big PIA. 9 is probably adequate but with PT 8’ at $10 a board for 6’s and 4’s I’m sick of the spend. And the time to get 5 more blocks level by myself without help like I had for the first 4, just way easier to schlep 48 cinder blocks and call it a day. Posts are good for the roof load and to handle the stack lean. Floor 8” above grade is plenty and buys me back a few extra inches of height.

I don't see an explanation for the word "try". I thought it was photoshoped unless "try" is an acronym but that's a longshot.

I read it as "PLUG HOLE" and "TRY to BUCKLE ASS". lol

Someone in management at Hyundai is really bored and probably thought about this before giving it that part number and name.

Must be a relative of the employee who thought up the concept to the original Hyundai Excel back in 85.

This setup is just enough to bring it closer to more modern systems but for most it's pretty anemic when in motion.

If parked and just chilling for a couple minutes it does round out the completely missing low end.

I've considered hunting a 2nd one down (well, actually 3rd as I have one in my civic too) and making a T-harness for it.

It's got nothing on my Taco tho.

I had an under the seat bought from Best Buy, which sounded pretty good until I decided it wasnt good enough. I am now running the Q logic box with 2 8inch alpine type r with 500 W feeding them (wired in parallel) and a DSP. The under the seat deal can fill in the lower octave well enough for most people Id think. I kept pushing my system incrementally further and it sounds excellent now. A DSP was the biggest improvement but that is a lot of time to invest in learning how to shape frequency curves.
