    Hey,

So I just started my truck via remote start and it idled for about a minute while I was doing something outside. As I was walking by the truck it made a short but rapid "clicking" (not sure what else to call it) noise that lasted maybe a second. Truck is just over a year old and has 28k miles. Been religious about maintenance. Any ideas?

Here's the closest noise I can find online to what it sounds like. Everyone on the channel says it has to do with the AC but this just started happening in late November in MN - that is to say cold outside and AC not on....

Maybe it is the compressor since the truck is in defrost mode?

The ABS cycles just after startup. It makes a similar noise. Or the compressor cycling but it usually clicks, waits, then clicks again.

It's not a normal noise. I've had the truck for more than a year and it just started.thanks though

Wondering if the sound is something you can replicate? Or hear every time you turn it on? Or does it seem random?

I’m in Minnesota as well btw!

Judging from your description, its probably the dreaded A/C clunk that many of us here have complained about without a solution from Toyota. What seems to work best to avoid the noise is to leave the fan setting on low, not off when shutting down and starting the truck.

No, it did it just a couple times during the few warmer days we had. Now that it's cold again, it hasn't done it.

I'll have to look into it. Honestly I guess I'm not too worried as long as it's not anything with the engine or transmission.
