    Hey guys and gals:

I am thinking about putting a rear light bar on and understand it will cover the slot to access the spare. I may just use the 3M stick on that comes with the bar, however I am asking for suggestions of what anyone has used to mount the bar so it can be removed in case I need to get to the spare. Was thinking about some type of stick-on clip. I don't want to drill holes in the truck. What has anyone used with success please?

    Thx.

I use indoor Command strips all over the house.
These aren't 'Command' but they do state for 'outdoor' use, so maybe they would be an option.
You can cut them to fit your LED strip.
As lightweight as that strip is, these would probably hold it.
Just pull the strip off if you needed to access the spare.

Mark, I'm using this method, 3 years with no issues.

Thx. Might be a good option. I went with the Recon double row sequencing bar. Probably won't be an issue to use the provided 3M strips as I have rarely suffered a flat in the 48 years I have been driving but one never knows. It would be best if I can easily take it off to access the spare.

Yep, if the supplied strips don't work, I would try the ones @Jim LE 1301 suggested.
I have used those Velcro strips outdoors and they are good.

I had one of those LED strips on my 2005 and used the supplied velcro.
I never had an issue with it falling off..

I have decided to change to the PUTCO 60" red bar. It does not have scanning lights but does come with the clips so removal is easy for access to the slot for the spare tire. It also has a T connector so it is plug and play to the 7 pin for reverse lights without having to splice into the wiring harness. Thx for your advice.

I have the mictuning 60" lightbar and used their provided clips instead of the double-sided tape. If I did it over, I would use velcro
    1) it would still be removable for when you need to access the spare
    2) it would be more forgiving with adjusting the level-ness of the bar. You don't have a lot of space under the tailgate and trying to install multiple clips in a straight line was something I struggled with
    3) the clips my mictuning lightbar came with were kinda cheap. I don't think I will be able to remove and install my bar more than 3 or 4 times before the clips are deformed and not secure. (Next time the bar comes off, I'll probably remove the clips and use velcro)

They also sell harness adapters that connect on the back side. My bar used a 4 pin plus the reverse got spliced. I bought an adapter, (its a 7 pin to 7 pin, with an additional 4 pin) and spliced into the reverse wire on that. Didn't mess with the original wiring and I can remove/replace things as I need.

How did I not see you used velcro.... I know folks used magnets but I didn't like that. I even have that same velcro in my garage  oh well, wouldn't be me if I did a ton of work to make things easier, only to miss the obvious solution lol

Have you had good success with the Mictuning? I like the sequential turn signals but prefer them red not amber. Will check them out.

I have had no issues with it so far.

Whoops! Its the OPT7 lightbar not mictuning

I do have amber blinkers in my tail lights (Hot Tails conversions done) so the amber in the lightbar works really well for me. I've been happy with how their sequential looks and the brightness of the reverse (adds illumination without washing out backup camera)
