What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Thanks man - it was cheap for the truck, under $2k - and then another $2500ish in various fees and paperwork to get it to the US. It's a 1990 - so 32 years old - and in great shape!

Swung by my parents house to grab their ‘21 trail edition and have RAS installed

 

How much lift did this add? HD set I assume?

 

I didn’t measure before and after but I hear it adds about 1.5 inch.
I don’t be alive it’s heavy duty. I think RAS only offers one kit

 

They have two - standard and HD

HD added 1.5” lift on my truck.

 

OEM style ambient lighting. Went through a few “ice blue” leds to find ones that match the factory dash color perfectly. Tapped off a blank switch and they dim with the knob and whatnot.

 

Pretty cool truck! Some of the horse farms around here have similar vehicles. Little 2 cylinder engines, and RH steering wheels lol. Feels really strange shifting with the left hand, and working the clutch with the left foot. The farms love them because they're all wheel drive and very easy on gas.

If you decide to take them off and have them coated be careful. I had three of the bolts gall the threads taking them off because they are stainless. I just used a thread die to clean them back up and retapped nut.

 

Did you have to add a carrier bearing drop kit or did you have any driveline vibration?

 

No I didn’t put any carrier bearing drop. Haven’t noticed any vibration yet.

 

lift is 1 to 1.5, depending on how you set it up. I used a quarter which is sized in between the white and black setting disks and got an inch of lift. I have the HD version and would recommend the HD unit for a Tundra.

 

This is rad! Reminds me of my old jeep setup. Whats the reason for needing this on your tundra? Just haven't seen this before.

Folks have been in town from Kansas. Dad and I took out the aftermarket exhaust that was installed by the previous owner. Went back to stock for now. Picked up complete stock system with black tip for $50!

Set is for sale (Magnaflow muffler) if anyone is interested in a really nice set of duals with quad tips.

Remember seeing those all over the place when I went to Japan a few years ago for work. Cool score, looks to be in great shape!

 

I love those k-trucks. I’ve always wanted one. From my understanding is that in Japan they have to get their vehicles inspected every two years and if they find anything they have to fix it. So when the vehicle get some age on them they will export them so they don’t have to keep repairing them when they get some age on them. The good thing is they are usually in great shape because of the inspections. Those are commercial trucks Japan and I have heard that they can handle a pretty good payload. I could be wrong about all this but I think that is what I was told one time about them. I’d much rather have one of those than a side x side. You can even put tracks on them. Will you be able to get it tagged? I heard that can be a challenge because most are imported as agricultural vehicles. There uses to be a company in Mississippi that would import a lot of them. Very cool. Id love to get one with a dump bed and Air Conditioner. I went to Japan back in the 90s. They have some cool stuff over there.

Those are BBS forged wheels. You cannot powder coat the forged wheels.
