I guess it sets up automatically and has a nice color display. Not the same form factor though.

SG3 is nice but there is something very cool about the SG2 which is hard to put into words.

It feels more "utilitarian" or "military" or "industrial" based on pics. Smaller too.

Vvti has got to be jiggleing the cam by 3600rpm. Because it raises the peak torque from 3400-3600 rpm. Do the plastic intakes have the acoustic control induction system? With a valve to change from short to long intake runners? I still havent seen anything about 10:1 pistons for 05-06, just for '07+.

Mine was 6200. But that was in a corolla xrs. I think in the celica gts it was 6000, or maybe a tad lower. It pissed me off because every time you'd shift you'd be back on the small cam.

Vvtl-i is 'Variable Valve Timing with Lift - intelligence". With vvtl-i, if im thinking about it right, instead of 1 cam lobe you have a 2nd, higher profile lobe as well. Once you hit the required rpm it switches over to the higher profile cam lobe and completely changes the cam profile, adding more lift and overlap. It also changes the timing.

My SHOs have something similar, but the intake geometry itself changes, hence the giant intake. When you hit 4k rpm, a little butterfly actuates switching from long runners to short runners. That's why the sound changed so much when getting on it. If it ran perfectly, you can feel it too.

Here's a dyno of a 2zz-ge, a vvtl-i motor. You can see when the change happens.

    Pete 222 hp 91 octane.jpg

On the SHO, if you look at this closely, you can see how a long runner from the back feeds the front cylinders, but a short runner from the from feed the same cylinders. Hence the 2 intake ports on the head.20181102_203303.jpg

Anyone seen anybody with these, or have experienced with these "smart" rearview dash cams?

I know @NUDRAT steered me towards this suggestion.

I don't bother with nearly any of the products sold exclusively or mostly on scAmazon when the manufacturer name has all-caps, sounds like a gibberish word, and/or the manufacturer doesn't have a website (Wolfbox apparently does, but still...)

Reviews I was able to quickly find online puts their products around a 4 out of 5. Maybe it's worthwhile. Maybe it's not. I went with Garmin after spending way too long trying to figure out what I needed and it's worked dandy, I don't even see it tucked behind my rear view, and when I've needed to pull video using the app, I did, no prob.

What I'd stress on you is this: Something is better than nothing when it comes to dashcams. What I'd warn you is: Don't get stuck in "analysis paralysis"! This is what a huge swath of normal people end up doing. Granted, I know you have and/or had a dashcam already. but ...

Garmin does have a front/rear system. But it's probably significantly more spendy than the Wolfbox stuff.

Not the one I have but I've been more than happy with the Autovox backup cam on my truck.

doubtful. Before I had my F150 towed from my house, I pulled the shell and set it on my AC Tundra. The width would've worked but it was 3-4" too long. The F150 was an '07 but likely the same bedsize as an 97-03. Not 100% on that tho

    97-03 is 77.5" inside
    06-08 is 77.75" inside
    1/4" difference

Glad you realized hard toppers are superior. After 12 years, mine is starting to form a small crack. Leer has a lifetime warranty but my Pops couldn't find the receipt from install. I'm still going to reach out to Leer about it, but I still have plenty of years out of it.

Hah, I'm mostly teasing anyways, don't worry. If I had nothing else and found a good deal on a soft topper, you bet I'd jump on it.

Even though my cap is starting to crack in one corner and I'm not the happiest about it, I feel like I've gotten so much use out of it and "my moneys' worth".

I want a high roof topper like isammi. Hopefully close to 40" tall so i could fit the buell in it.

    spacekaps are cool, too.
