I've seen some stippling jobs that are not up to par but the other day I saw a Glock that was done up right. I'm trying to get up with the guy to find out where he got it done at but haven't been able to get ahold of him yet. He said he sent it off to Texas but was unsure of the place. It wasn't a starburst pattern but more like sandpaper. I'm thinking of getting my 23 done or just buying a 19 and having it sent off. Any suggestions?

When done right on the right gun it's really nice. For example, on a gen 3 for me it's mandatory because the factory Grip is so slick. I have the RTF2 frame on my 19 so that doesn't need it but I'm going to take mine to a shop to get a little work done below the slide where my left thumb sits and have a little work to the trigger guard. I did the mag release the other day myself and turned out nice.

I also have a 1911 but it's too heavy for an edc. My 23 is a Gen 3. It also had Duracoat on it when I got it not really my style but it was too good of a deal to pass up.

Doesn't cause an issue for me. I carry inside appendix carry, I think carrying on your side would rub some.

RTF2 frames are the best by far...I've got 2 and no stipple job I've felt yet has compared

I'm a big fan of the 4th gen grip. I've shot rtf2's and I agree there's no comparison but it's just not for me. I like the large backstrap for my 4th gen 19, it's comparable to my 30S in size. 30S is definitely slicker though (3rd gen).

I like what you did with the grip! Reminds me of a spent-brass pile!

To your original question; were you looking for a "sandpaper" design like this...

Most of the time they use a soldering iron to do the stippling. My buddy owns a gun shop and does custom jobs on Glocks.

Sent my 19 to Agency Arms they did a great job on the stipple. Also an undercut on the trigger guard is really nice to have.

I'm not a fan of stippling. Good gloves and a Hogue Handall have always done the trick for me. I know some guys who swear by Guntape too. It's like stippling that can be removed..

I've seen some really good stippling jobs, but considering I can get the same functionality for a fraction of the time and cost, and without the risk of permanently disfiguring a firearm, I prefer these other methods.

LOL. When you liked that comment from July I was wondering if you were gonna mention something about that since it seems to be on ongoing issue
