It's been a while since I've been on here since I sold my Tundra several years ago. I want to buy a new one but can't find one. Or atleast what I'm looking for. TRD 4x4 crew cab longer bed. Anybody have any guess when things will get back to normal?

There is like 10 of them sitting at a dealer near me in Miami,FL. It's starting to look better through different states.

With or without ADM? If without, what is the dealer name?

The entire auto market is slowing down. This time next year will be very different than current conditions.

Yep. And there's a pretty good probability that the economy will shed a lot of jobs thereby "releasing" a lot of vehicles with that will be upside down on their loans. Guvmunt virus money is still coursing through the veins of the economy but will all but be gone by the end of next year.

When you look on Granger Ford and Robideaux GMC's websites (very forum friendly high volume dealers) for 1/2 ton pickups, they have 30+ of F150s or GM 1500s on their lots.

In 6 months, I think there will certainly be a surplus in 1/2 ton pickups across the board.

I fully expect that next year, we will also see infinitives like 0%, 1.9%, 2.9% etc APR promotional finance rates from a lot of manufacturers. I’ve seen this before when lending rates are higher, and economic conditions are poor.

These promotional financing deals are tremendously beneficial to buyers with outstanding credit. As it should be the financially responsible will still be able to buy what they want in a tough economy, and the irresponsible who didn’t plan and are leveraged up to their eyebrows on debt/income will no longer be able to afford shit.

I’m ready to buy, so I reached out to a dealership in northern Ohio. The salesman is good, I purchased a different Toyota vehicle through him last year.

Looking to buy a Limited, 6.5’ bed, hybrid, 4 x 4. He said that they can’t get the configuration I want in this region, specifically, the 6.5 foot bed. I asked if ordering was a possibility, but that seems to be a crapshoot as well. He actually suggested I try dealerships in New York or western Pennsylvania. I don’t imagine salesman/dealerships turn away business often but here we are.

I’m likely going to wait this out for several months to see what happens, then reevaluate. The hope is that things keep turning in a better direction, but we’ll see.

Toyota seems to pretty clearly not be interested in giving customers what they actually want. I would suggest looking at other manufacturers too, since all full-size trucks are now rated as below average in reliability the Tundra has no outstanding features to stand on. Buy what you like the most that fits your specifications the closest for the best price.

I’ve considered, and I am still considering other manufacturers. I am leery of what domestic manufacturers offer for reasons that have been relitigated on this and specific manufacturer forums, as well as the anecdotal negative experiences of my friends and family.

I’m nearly 50 and I’m only on the fourth vehicle I’ve ever owned in my life so I am trying to be patient, take my time, and hopefully arrive at a good decision in the end.

They're showing up on the lots. Interest rates and uncertainty have yanked the E brake on truck sales for many.
My preferred dealer hadnt had a single 3rd Gen hit the ground unsold until about a month ago. They have 3 on the lot now. Another dealer about an hour away has 5 on the lot.
I tried to get in one before rates shot up in anticipation of going out on my own for work but I removed myself from the dealer list when rates broke 4%.

I’m in Houston, likely the largest Tundra market in the country. The biggest dealer here has a few dozen in stock, at peak times a few years back they would have 100 or so. At the bottom they had less than 5. By that measure the market is definitely recovering, well on its way but not quite at peak times.

But think that we are going to see significant price increases.

Recently purchased and had a wait, it may be getting better, but still far from what was previously "normal"

I’ve been waiting just over a year for mine from my current dealership. I was bored yesterday and did a search in a 100 mile radius. I found the truck I wanted (with some added port installed options I dont want) about 50 miles away. I reached out and amazingly it wasn’t spoken for. It’s delivering in a few weeks. It’s unfortunate that my usual dealership just couldn’t get my order.

from what i have been told, our region had a shake up of the transport company that use to deliver vehicles. they were taking about 1.5 months to transport vehicles around the region. hopefully this helps in reducing the timeframe of transports to dealers.
