No idea. I just search “Godzilla is an asshole” on the site regularly to see what dumb shit he’s done lately. Today it brought this thread up.

Wow, what a confusing mess. Glad it's turning a corner in your direction! The GM shouldn't blame you for being skeptical in today's market.
Hopefully the truck lands before you have to hit the road.

He doesn't. He said he understands the maddening aspect of Toyota not providing accurate tracking. I apologized, as I hadn't been trying to be accusatory and I think I offended him. He has been very gracious and said no apology was needed, but I felt otherwise. Still do. I feel like I was a jerk, even with all the stuff I could find not looking good, I hate making somebody think that I am attacking them when I don't mean to.

He probably really appreciates the fact that you feel that way and apologized, some people just skip that part and say “oh well, I’m good” and justify why they felt that way, especially with dealers. Good on you man :fistbump:

Adam - you are the good person here. And you are justified in your concerns (as demonstrated but the grundle of folks who agreed with your suspicions). You took the high road and I hope it works out for you.
All Others - I have met Adam in person and he is a genuinely nice guy! Certainly a Toyota truck enthusiast and concerned about getting the right deal but most on this forum are the same.

Thank you, Steve. I appreciate the kind words.

I don't really think this is a nice guy/not nice guy situation. Just the usual failures of communication that are so prevalent in the human experience. There's no animosity or conflict, just a bit of confusion, and I went into full blown overthink it mode. Misunderstandings and assumptions.

I'm truly grateful that the dealer didn't just decide to wash his hands of the whole situation. He could easily move the truck elsewhere and point to this thread as proof that I was a difficult customer, and it speaks to his character that he understands and is following through. Many would not bother to clarify and correct my misconceptions as he has.

I do think that companies' communication has gone to shit over the last couple years. I'll contact people looking to get someone to do some work around my house and most won't bother to reply. I really appreciated the guy who told me he couldn't schedule me in for roof repairs and recommended I go with someone else as the rainy season was coming up. A quick email was all it took to make sure he'd be my first choice for future roof repairs.

When I had an issue with my canopy, I would call the shop every few weeks, get someone different each time, explain my situation then never hear back. As soon as I went in, they fell all over themselves to get it fixed but why did I have to drag my ass all the way over there?

I'd rather do stuff online and by email. I hate talking on the phone and I don't have time to be driving all over the countryside.

Today is the day I had originally planned to depart for Texas with the original projected delivery of the Tacoma being prior to the 15th. If there is no word today about the delivery it will mean I won't have the time for travel available until the 7th of next month. If that windo goes by I won't be able to travel again until after the 1st of the year. Le sigh.

He'd probably be logged into the Toyota App scan/track thing and be texting me 5 minutes into the trip...
