I know someone has...So who has decorated early?

Slow day at work lol. So who has decorated for the holidays already? Why not...most places are black Friday all month long lol. I'll start mine outside this weekend but won't turn them on until Thanksgiving night.

 

We're doing it this Sunday. We went to church with a lady who was one of those who semi-seriously would take you behind the woodshed if you decorated for Xmas prior to Thanksgiving.

She posted pics of her Xmas tree on FB the other day, so I'm safe.

 

We haven't put anything up yet.

I was a little surprised my wife's parents didn't have their decorations up this past weekend. They usually like to do them November 12th. Though they take them down on December 26th, partially because they're tired of them and partially to differentiate my brother in law's birthday on December 29th from Christmas.

They are already listening to Christmas music, though.

If my wife had her way, we'd decorate on the 12th as well. I prefer to decorate on Advent I or December 1st, whichever comes first in a given year and not only because the decorations stay up until at least January 8th. So we usually compromise and do it a weekend in mid to late November when we have the time and energy.

 

The night of Halloween, as we were going to bed, my wife informed me that I needed to bring the Halloween tubs up the next day so she could put the Halloween decorations away and start bringing up Christmas decorations. She put the tree up last weekend while I was deer hunting.

 

Are we married to the same woman?

 

Decorations don't bug me, I won't decorate anyway. It's the Christmas music that plays incessantly from July 5th through Memorial day every year. Every station on the radio is hijacked with the garbage.

By the time Christmas comes, I'm ready to check into a psych ward.

 

I hate Christmas music so much. It's the same 2 dozen songs in various iterations.

 

It should be a federal crime to have Christmas decorations up prior to 2 weeks before.
It should also be a crime to have Christmas music playing in stores and people should be allowed to sue for emotional distress. I know I can't be the only one that gets pissed off by all that crap.

 

It started snowing heavy here on November 1st. My wife finally went out and rescued the ghosts last weekend.

 

We have a station here that plays it non stop from mid November until December 27th; my wife's parents listen to it both at their place and if they're over at our place babysitting.

What kills me is from the little bit I've inadvertently heard so far this year, it seems like they play some different stuff in November. Once December hits, we'll get the same 30 songs every day.

 

Advent starts 3-4 weeks before Christmas.

 

Its absolutely infuriating lol. My mom especially loves it so much she has it playing constantly.

 

Emotional stress and mental anguish. The Geneva accords were penned up to avoid such torture being inflicted on the human race.
