After seeing the ‘22’s skid plate made out of carpet, I am inclined to agree.

I did. It’s quite the upgrade. Looks like more 3rd row space than the 23 sequoia. And he’ll of a lot better looking rear cargo that folds flat.

some things to be desired. Larger infotainment, need more soft touches and luxury appearance interior. Some ambient lighting and a better 2nd row configuration. But for me it’s a big upgrade eith the pano roof, 360 camera, real center console.

From what I read, the 2nd row can either be a bench, captain's chairs with a console between them or captain's chairs with space between them. You can even fold that middle seat into the floor if you don't want to take it out.

Yeah I would just prefer a non removable bench with just a flip down armrest that doesn’t have to flip the whole middle section

Surprised that Honda came out with a new V6 for it. Seems to be a variant of the Acura 3.0T, seeing as how both are "narrow angle" V6's.

How do you feel about the power rating? To me it seems a bit low, might be disappointing in the mountains.....

It does seem low. I’m kinda shocked they don’t have a hybrid option. I’ll be curious what full specs and pricing are . Can’t be too high or else it’s a no brainer to move to the MDX

.... but are you ready to move on to a pandemic era built vehicle ?

Do you trust them - any brand ?

Myself...I can't call CAA here. No tow hooks either on the Toyota for a neighbor to help me.
Any help coming in would need to pull from the front. Just saying.

I think the pandemic era vehicle stuff is here to stay for a long time IMO

I don't like it but I don't seeing this being resolved within years

I would rather have tow hooks but it is what it is, toyota buries them under the truck anyway so to use them your looking at front end damage in a lot of cases.

but thats jsut me, not entirely sure what Im going to do, Ill worry about it when or if the dealer can find what I want and I can then inspect and test drive the vehicle

    Good read

2022 Ford F-150 Problems You Need to Know About (motorbiscuit.co2022 Ford F-150

Problems, Issues & Top Complaints (lemberglaw.com)

Have been wanting a 2022 Tundra for over a year now. Sold my 2020 Limited CM in May of last year (DAMMIT) for $7K more than I paid with the hopes of landing a 2022. Well with the huge price increase and 0 incentives and ALL the issues I keep reading about I am so confused, Wish the He** I had my 2020 back, poor gas mileage and all. I keep thinking maybe a new F150 Lariat but so many issues with those as well. Man I am just at a lost. Can't bring myself to look at GM/Chevy or Ram. Hate the thought of paying more for a used Tundra than I paid for my perfect 2020 brand new. First world problems I know

thanks! Great read. I am in the market to replace my ‘13 rock warrior. Looks like I and between the 23 tundra and ram. I may wait to see how the new hurricane engine performs in the ram. Wanted the new tundra, but no auto 4wd may be a deal killer for me

Same situation (kind of)- sold my 19 in November last year, but finally got a hybrid in June- absolutely well worth the wait and wouldn't go back a generation

I certainly hope they can improve the quality. As long as they have been building trucks (and cars) there is no reason they should not be #1 in quality. Really like the F150 just hope they get their act together. Have personally owned 5 F150's (05 Lariat crew/10 xlt crew/11 xlt crew/16 xlt crew/17 xlt crew) had issues w/everyone except the 05. Have owned 5 Tundras (03 double/07cm/08cm/13 double and 2020 cm. 0 issues with any of them.

Almost nobody on the 2 lane highways heading north at end of cottage season here.
Everyone was flying doing 100-110kms in 80kms zones. 8^0

Passed two 2022 White Tundra SR5's going the other way.

I thought, and everyone else did too judging by the brakes lights - that they were Ontario OPP SUV vehicles coming at us.
They like to set up running radar, and you see them do a U turn behind you after they have passed if they have nabbed anyone.

Have a 2021 F150 XLT 4x4 with the 3.3l as a rental while my 2018 Tacoma is getting body work done (stupid Californian who should not have be driving smacked me). Almost exactly 35k miles on it when I picked it up. Brand new AT tires on it. That thing has had 3 bad transmission clunks in my first 20 miles of driving it. I’ve read ford screwed up the shifting logic with the 10spd and that is for sure right. It does shift nicely under moderate to max throttle though. Slow acceleration or no gas deceleration makes some terrible clunky shifts. It is a rental though so who knows how it was abused before me.

Yes, it’s the ZF 9 speed, which generally has been poorly rated in every application. The new Honda-built 10 speed they put in the Accord and Odyssey seems to be better. It’s one big reason (among several) why I’d avoid the Ridgeline entirely.

    Consumer Reports Reliability Report

Toyota ranks #1 overall for reliability.
New Tundra loses recommended status. Now below average. Still not as bad as GM and F150 Hybrid see below.

    https://driving.ca/auto-news/awards...high-for-reliability-evs-trucks-do-not-report

Pickup trucks have had low reliability ratings for six of the last seven years of the survey. Among those rating below-average were the redesigned Toyota Tundra, Hyundai Santa Cruz, Nissan Frontier, Jeep Gladiator, and full-size Ford and GM trucks. The Toyota Tacoma and both conventional and hybrid versions of the Ford Maverick scored above average.
Models with improved reliability ratings that now earn CR’s “Recommended” status are the Audi Q3, Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Escape Hybrid, Genesis G80 and GV70, Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid, Kia Seltos, Sorento Hybrid and Soul, Lincoln Corsair and Nautilus, Mini Cooper, Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Ascent, Toyota Corolla Hatchback, and Volvo S60. Those that lost their previous “Recommended” status due to declining reliability are the Ford Bronco Sport and Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Elantra and Kona, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Tundra, and Volvo XC60

The top ten least-reliable 2023 vehicles, starting from the worst:

    Ford F-150 Hybrid
    Hyundai Kona Electric
    Lincoln Aviator
    Nissan Sentra
    Ford Explorer
    Chevrolet Bolt
    GMC Sierra 1500
    Chevrolet Silverado 1500

    *****************************************

What I get from this report, is that it confirms to me that the new Tundra is now a warranty purchase just like the others.

Unfortunate but not a surprise based on watching every Toyota vehicle I have had get cheaper with each generation. Just pick the truck that does the job best and makes you smile when you see it in the garage.

I'm disappointed that the only 3 row SUV that's recommended is the smallest one (Subaru Ascent).

My son in law is trading in his few month old F150 Limited for a Yukon XL.
Apparently getting what he paid for it in trade in.
One came in so they called him in to look at it. While he is inspecting it, they run the numbers on his F150.
They tell him the F150 has two recalls and they need to be completed by him, before the dealer will take it in.
The first one is scheduled. The second one is for Blue Cruise. Sort of like Tesla's hands free system ?
No parts and no timeline when parts will be available. Maybe next year.
So he called it off and I guess he won't be using Blue Cruise anytime soon 8^0

I ordered my Tremor with virtually every option, with BlueCruise being the exception. Glad I opted out of that one.
