My blank canvas for the overland build
Just inherited my dads 2007 Tundra and found this forum to get some ideas on how I'd go about "making it mine". This was pop's toy hauler and didn't get driven much. I flew out to Texas from California to settle his estate and drove the Tundra back pulling a trailer with all his tools. Roughly about 7000lbs. Now for context, I've been a Chevy guy my whole life and gave him grief about owning a Toyota. That mindset changed before we even got out of Texas!!! My daily driver is a Chevy Tahoe that I love. That Tahoe has collected dust since I got back into California!

Mighty as it is, it sat in the Texas sun and the red paint didn't do so well. I'm thinking it might need a good buffing (I hope it's that easy). Right before he passed, he put on a nice set of Toyo Open Country tires and now it seems like I'm stuck with the stock rim and ride height for a while. But the things that will happen soon are the bumpers and maybe some lights. I will be parking it and keeping the miles down because I plan on keeping this untill I grow old enough to pass it to a grandchild.

I'm 45 and the Tundra only has 50k on the odometer...

Welcome, don’t park it to save it, it’s a Toyota, not a domestic P.O.S.

Feel free to drive the shit out of it, you won’t hurt it.

    Welcome aboard.

At 50,000 miles the engine isn't even fully broken in/seated. That happens usually between 60 and 70k.

You care for her and she'll grant your wish to pass on to your grandson.

Enjoy your stay here. Unlimited ideas and advice.

Nice Tahoe!!! Mine is a 2004. I paid $5200 5yrs ago with 125k miles and used it for driving Lyft here in Sacramento as a side gig. That thing made me over $20k in the two years I drove Lyft. Now with about 230k and a rebuilt trans, she still runs strong!

Wow. I haven't seen a Tahoe that nice in a while. One of my favorite SUV's.

Colorado TJ- very nice looking black Tahoe you posted, 39,000! WOW, I wanted a K5 but a decent one in SoCal are 35-50K, so went with the Tahoe. I told my mechanic friend it's a future classic and he said yea when we are both in our 90s-Ha Ha.

Probably worth it. It has 20K in motor/trans alone.
