@4x4_Angel if you need a good flashlight, check out Olight. I've been really surprised by how great they are and Holden has some as well. I expect with Black Friday that they will have some sales.

So I was out most of yesterday since I had 3 wisdom teeth removed (4th was impacted and had risk of messing up nerves). Sucks doing it as a 36 year old with 4 young kids. Poor wife is handling a lot more than normal, but still handling it all like a boss.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of our service members, as well as their friends and family that serve as well. I have lots of friends and family (yall included here as well) and it doesn't go unappreciated. Don't let the world of non-appreciative and disrespectful ones outweigh those of us that love and appreciate y'all. Typically, bad news covers over or is louder than the good news. We all appreciate and respect your choices for this country! ❤️:oldglory:

Here’s a couple cautionary things about Olight. My son carries his as an edc and once he had it get accidentally turned on and started to burn his pocket. I can hardly use mine because of my knife making. The cool mechanism they have for charging involves a magnetic ring on the flash light and I am always coated in metal filings and dust. It doesn’t take long before it is turning itself on and won’t respond to the switch.
On the other hand, it’s the best and most powerful little light I have ever seen.

    Crazy!

I carry mine all the time and work in a production facility and have never had issues. Only issue I've had is wearing the "paint" off the button from it rubbing in my pocket.

If your son is using an Olight M2R Pro or Warrior Mini Flashlight, there is a recall on them.

Olight Ecommerce Technology Recalls Flashlights Due to Burn Hazard | CPSC.gov

It's my understanding they will refund or give a replacement.
I EDC a Warrior Mini at work in a Leatherman nylon holster.
Mine accidentally came on and I could smell the nylon burning, I turned it off before it melted too much.
There used to be a metal rivet with a hole in it, it burned a small hole in my uniform pants when it fell out.

    jtm8q4yg_e6ff4801f9b943ad103d8f8b07558651b665ab67.jpg

The recall would replace my Mini with a Warrior Mini II, I have 2 of those, but the Mini II is longer and doesn't fit my EDC needs.
The Mini II has a sensor in it that dims the light and turns it off when it senses something near the lens.

    yi4sqfq6_3d636d8bd38a0469e1c1c2b8d5505ecc8dc3a83a.jpg

So far I've kept the original Mini because I love it's size and I'm more aware of its possibility to come on.
I love these lights and it's 2 stage tail-cap switch.

I have 5 Olights and the charging system is awesome.

Well, I did. :( Sad for the families of those on board, and sad for the loss of the historic planes.

All I can think is "at least it was quick." Such a sad day.

It literally cut that B-17 in half.
Not a lot of those WWII planes left anymore.:(

    On a happier note:
My sister and I got my Dad a ride on B-17 for his birthday a few years ago.
It was from that airport and more than likely the same plane..:eek2:
He is an Air Force vet from the 1950s..

    I saw the footage, terrible

I got a ride in the "Memphis belle". At least the one used in the movie. Wish I had photos, but it was before the era of cell phones, and my dad wasn't big on cameras, and he got my a ride at an air show at his base
