Has anyone just removed that trim piece and just left it off?

Mine has busted all to heck and even has a hole in it now LOL.

Dealers want $140 for one to replace it and I just do not see spending the money only to have this flimsy cheap piece of plastic break again.

Thankful for the manual seats in this one.

shouldn’t that be free an covered under warranty to replace a defective part ?

i don’t mind the use of inexpensive materials to reduce manufacturing costs but at least they should do is stand behind the product an make it right when it breaks

If it is from a defect, it should be covered.
If you broke it, it wouldn't be.

I found nothing in your warranty that reads 'trim' isn't covered..

I think you may have the right idea about just removing it..

I've replaced that part twice on my 2014 from my fat a$$ sliding in and out of the seat over the years.
But at least I got a few years out of each one..:eek2:

As much as I love my 2014 SR5, the interior materials are awful..
they scratch when you look at them.

My 2005 interior was much better as far as materials.

I have definitely seen people with power seats getting that side trim replaced under warranty before. You're the first with manual seats having issue but seems it would be the same.
