The transmission is slow to engage, when the truck sits for more than 1.5 weeks.

Start cold engine, place in reverse, and wait about 10 seconds before the truck starts to move. Engagement is slow and soft.

Drive every day and the transmission locks up like normal.

Is this typical or should I bring it in for service?

2021 TRD, Limited. About 8-K on the odometer.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
Not normal, perhaps fluid level should be checked, its acting low.

    That’s my thought too.

    Thanks.

Yup. What they said. Transmission fluid is what automatics use to shift gears. Low fluid, low pressure, poor, slow, or no shifting.

Mine has experienced the same and the fluid level is perfect. It's also a 2021. My guess is transfluid is draining back to pan or transmission body and torque converter isn't full. I think it characteristic more than issue.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Good to know.

Yes, fluid slowing draining out of the converter was my other thought.

Have about 16k on mine. In someones humble opinion, swap now or at change interval (30k)?

For the first fluid change I think it's good to do early since there will be break in shavings. But after I think 30k or 40k is good. I plan on doing 30k.

Thanks! Plan for it at 30k then. Initial plan anyways, but I like to vet my thoughts through others.
