Ok so I’m wanting to do something a bit different for baseboard/casing. I like the look of this picture 6C2291BB-AFA8-4DBA-8609-5772473BCFCC.jpgthey flow together seamlessly so that’s what I’m going for. The base will be 4.5” tall and the casing will be 3.25” tall so the miter cuts at the base of the doors would be like this.
    C036DA6F-B499-4A05-ADE0-E40B08A89043.jpg
Obviously they would be caulked but I’m hoping this will look good. Any thoughts?

hope you have a good saw… get a blade for finish work the more teeth the better. Make a few set up cuts and a jig so you can make precise cuts on the base pieces barely hit the tube of caulk with your knife… little goes a long way… good luck man I like the look though

Yes a finish blade will be a must. I still have to paint these too which I’m not looking forward to either.
Definitely a different look but I like it as does the wife.

Are you using base and casing of different thicknesses? That’s not going to work well or look seamless like your picture.

I almost wonder if it would be easier to use two different pieces of trim to make the look you're going for? Use a nickel to get your spacing and attach it.
I have no experience with that. It's a cool look though. Good luck.

That’s a lot more work than the single pieces that these are. The slot doesn’t go all the way through.

Little mo'betta. Think i might double layer plastic which should last a season before making patterns for a heavy duty cover. Hail is rare, but present, and as set, i have all 6 legs within a ropes length of a heavy duty ground rock to anchor to.
    5AF1ABAE-019B-467B-ADCF-C779069D75BB.jpg

didnt move the big rock yet.

plan to split the N and S sides, so the s sides can open when the weathers nice.

Thanks. I really don’t wanna do MDF of a height that tall though.

I found my local millworks place that is going to do the work

Cast iron storage. I left room for some expansion too and I want to put hooks on the underside of the shelf to hang accessories. Just need to paint the screw heads.

I thought it was a bedroom:rofl: I was thinking to myself...

"That's cool to have built in dressers! But where does the bed go?" Then I saw the hanging rods  I think I need a beer and some relaxing time.

I forgot to say I like it! Looks good!

Thanks! I saw it in a youtube video a long time ago and stole the idea. :D

Damn straight, love me some Lodge iron. The big one on the bottom left is actually a Camp Chef and it's surprisingly taken a seasoning better than any of the Lodge.
