Like the title says... I Just swapped out the plain black plastic mirrors that came on my SR5 with color-matched mirrors with the turn signals. These are supposedly pre-wired for turn signals, but for some reason only the driver side mirror turn signal is blinking when I switch them on.

Checked the wiring harnesses, both sides have the same pin configuration and the same number of wires going to each. I don't really know which wire is which, so I'm a bit stuck at the moment. I'm guessing there's a disconnect somewhere between the signal switch and where the wire connects to the mirror connector. Any idea where I can find a wiring diagram for these turn signals? Or if there's anything I can check next to try to solve the wiring mystery?

    Before - plain black mirrors

After - Color-matched with turn signals. looks sooo much better.

Driver side wiring harness - this turn signal works. 7 wires in the connector.

passenger side wiring harness - this turn signal doesn't work. same 7 wire positions, but different colors.

Since you know the drivers side mirror works, can you try plugging it into the passenger side connector to determine whether it might be a problem with the passenger mirror itself?

Yep, I did that the other night. Confirmed the mirror itself works just fine. It's just not getting power from the truck. I've scheduled an appointment with the service department to check it out, if there's a problem with wiring it should be covered by the warranty. I'll see what they say and keep y'all posted.

i am thinking since toyota is going more can-bus and wiring harnesses are pre made for the features of a vehicle than doing everything but the sink style like the old days, just adding the hardware no longer works since the can-bus and related ecu will not detect the added feature.

i think going fully can-bus on everything let them track alot more error codes for faults on even minor things now to diagnose more faults.

    but thats just my opinion.
