I have a 21 limited and want to upgrade the exhaust. Have a new baby and Christmas around the corner I want to keep it at around 1000 or less. I have a buddy who can get me the touring for under 1k.

Anyway, I haven’t heard either of these in person. I don’t want a super loud exhaust but obviously want it louder than stock. My taste is a smooth, deep exhaust without any of the “crackle”. Any advice?

Gotta be @dirtydeeds for Tundra exhaust upgrades.
Might be a little over $1k, but Keith does have sales from time to time..

It's hard to beat Keith's 10" BAM with his Helmholtz resonator.
    I've had an 8", 10", and 12" BAM.
The 8" will rasp or crackle as you call it.

The 10" is the sweet spot.
The startup gives a sweet burp (I use my remote start every time I walk up to the truck) and you can pussyfoot the pedal if you need it stock quiet.
Of course I give the pedal a little tap under bridges and overpasses just to hear the 5.7 BAM echo.

The 10" BAM is about the equivalent in loudness to the TRD Pro duals but without the helicopter drone.
Plus the single-out looks better than the duals IMHO.

The BAM bolts onto the existing OEM system, replacing the stock muffler.

    e1hnl9ci_efc558f4a802050d4ed01d66e0915e93121f3b45.jpg

First, try it without the resonator.
If the little bit of drone is noticeable to you (or her), add the res..

Give Keith a call and see what he can do for you..

You have the touring? My buddy has the atak on his 150 and it sounds great. Maybe a touch loud for me but the sound is great.

My borla came on the truck, not sure which version it is. No drone whatsoever. Sounds great with the rear window down. Sounds mean when you get on it and pretty docile in normal driving.

+1 DirtyDeeds, on my third system in as many vehicles. Bolt on in your driveway in 30 minutes, sounds amazing.

I’ve had a lot of systems and I really enjoy the TRD duals. I’ve sold others I had to go back to it. The duals look better and sound better from the driver seat since you can actually hear it on your driver side of the truck. It’s a smooth deep tone, and not overstated IMO. It’s not super loud but definitely a unique tone.

I would go with borla if I had to pay full price for bam. With borla you are getting a muffler and tailpipes for about the same price as bam. I have bam 10”. Drove my buddies 17 5.7 with borla…no torque loss compared to mine.

I yanked the TRD Pro exhaust from my truck because it was too loud and the drone was insane when towing. I’ve got a stock exhaust now and love it. If I was to ever upgrade it would be a Dirty Deeds.

Regardless of internet/armchair testimonials. You lose low end torque going dual exhaust on a 5.7 with stock exhaust manifold. You’d literally be paying $ for less power.

if you remove stock muffler for something free flowing, keep stock tubing diameters and lengths, and install a Helmholtz resonator: you gain low end and over all torque, gain horsepower, have the truck as loud or as quiet as you want it, and don’t have drone.

our 8” or 10” system has this complete package.

we are doing a Black Friday sale right now. It’s a little bit more than the mentioned systems. But as mentioned, you get every benefit of an exhaust without any downside.
