Hey, I recently picked up a 2016 SR5 CrewMax (non JBL) and was wanting to add 2 10s. I don’t mind the stock head unit and the speakers at the moment (would be open to upgrading later down the road). I’m really wanting to get some great bass and willing to pay for a quality sub that will fit behind seats. Currently the JL Audio Stealth Boxes with 2 10s are going for $1600 plus. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13694616/JL-Audio-Stealthbox.html
    I
was thinking about pairing this with an Audio Control LC800 from Best Buy and having them install for a couple hundred bucks. My question to the group is are the JLs worth that amount or is there smarter routes to go. Alternative being a plug and play setup where I would get way more for my money. Thanks!

I’ve always been a fan of JL audio, but lots of good sounding quality subs for that money or less. The factory head unit will limit the bass output at higher volume levels.

@james@tech12volts will set you up right. Some of us have his sub boxes specifically made for 2 JL 10s. They're top notch and he will save you some $$$

Thanks, I hear the LC800 has some AccuBASS feature to counter the bass roll off. Any recommendations on subs that are better bang for buck?

@james@tech12volts I'm down to see what packages/options you have available as well! Maybe at a minimum your sub box could save a couple hundred compared to the stealth box.

$1600 is most of the way to entire speaker replacements from Tech12v, if not more than.

I installed a complete system from James at Tech12Volt in my wife’s 2019 1794. Amazing! I highly recommend James. Make sure you put in the sound deadening mat. It makes a huge difference, even with the stereo off.
